I know it's released today, but. . .
« on: March 05, 2013, 09:31:20 AM »
I won a 503A on Facebook yesterday. I'm thinking it'll fit under my Power Machine and above my Mars. I know it's supposed to be good for medium to light oil, so I am going to drill it accordingly.

My question is, with the little bit of particle in the Power Machine, will the 503A be a whole lot different shape? Or will it be similar, just less motion?

My arsenal from heavy to light:
916AT (pin down 500/2000 Abralon)
Mean Machine (pin down 500/1500)
920A (Pin up 500/Polish)
Power Machine (pin up 2000/Polish)
Mars (pin up 500/polish)

The 503A is very very clean, almost no read through the fronts and the miss then has a very strong move off of the friction. This ball does not do well in oil out of the box and will allow you to play more towards the dry to start and allow you to make small moves in throughout the night. Should be a lot cleaner than your machine.

That's what I had figured. Wanted a little reassurance. Thanks. Hopefully I'll get it in and drilled so I can try it out next week during my spring break.

This ball is VERY good!  I have used this ball late game 2 in league, and later in qualifying blocks on kegel challenge patterns, and this ball gets the job done.  Very clean through the front part of the lane, and retains a lot of energy down lane, and this ball doesn't quit!  Compared to my 503T, it is much cleaner with a lot more backend.  If this ball is a little to squirty for you out of the box, don't be afraid to knock the polish off, and re-polish it again!

Just got an email from Mitch Beasley saying my ball had been processed and would ship in the next couple of days. I'm excited to say the least!

particle in the power machine?

That's a first I've ever heard.

That's what I've heard anyway. Bowling ball vault has it as a reactive solid, Bowlingball.com has it as a particle, Track's website (and most others) have it as the Vector SF and nothing more. I asked my driller and he said it probably had at least a light load of particle in the coverstock due to the fact that it was made by Track in 2006, and that was their thing for a long time. I'm not a historian by any means, but I'm just going on what I've read/seen/heard.

Can't fault that.  I always remembered it as a pearl.  Either way, the ball was amazing.  I still have one in my garage.

It's a pearl for sure, but I think there's a little bit of particle in there.

But really, who cares what the cover stock has in it. This is still a damn good ball for me.
