A Tale of 2 GP2s.......and their versatility!
« on: June 17, 2005, 12:51:08 PM »
Tonight was my first night back after 2 weeks off from bowling. I am bowling a summer doubles league with my wife. @ weeks ago I shot 776 and hadn't touched a ball since. Tonight in practice, my timing STUNK! After a couple of good shots, I figured out the left lane was over/under horrible, although they supposedly just oiled. I decided to throw my polished GP2, pin under ring, cg in palm, mass bias left of thumb on that lane to get me down the lane better. The righ lane, I threw my 813 GP2, same drill as the other mentioned above, but factory surface. After a slow start I threw all 3 in the tenth to shoot 224. Started the second game with the front six, stoned a 7 pin, spare-went sheet for 279. Wife made fund of me for "being so close again". Well, I showed her, shot 300 the last game for 803 series! I threw 26 out of the last 27- the only miss was the stone 7 in the second game. I had one open, a 7-10 the first game.

Just yet again shows me how amazing the GP2s are in their versatility in their covers. I was able to play the lanes totally different from one lane to another with just a cover change with the same ball.

Kudos to the Track team again for an amazing piece. Just reconfirms my committment to carry 6 or 8 GP2s next year.

Wow, I'm amazed how versatile a particle cover can be.

Nice Shooting.

BTW, stupid question, I heard that you're not supposed to 'sand' a particle cover, so after you've shined it up, how do you take the shine off? Or am I way off the mark here?

Thanks!

Charlie, I agree, you have to be real careful sanding a particle as it can hurt/destroy the particle in the surfaces. After continual sanding, it takes a toll on the ball. I usually don't touch the surface but once on a ball. If I still don't like it, then out the door it goes.
