AA and Machine Pics and review

You can see the layouts. As I posted in a different topic, both aa's are absolute mosters. Anyone that liked the rev master, or the reactive, even just a little will absolutly love this ball. It gets into a strong roll early, a few feet later than the reactive, but with the backend hook of an xception. The stonger layed out one hooks probably 5-7 boards more than the less, and probably turns over 3-5 feet sooner. Out of the box, i hit both with 1200, repolished the less agressive with magic shine, and left the stonger one to slightly even out the reaction (due to lane conditons and my style.)

The machine may have the most turn off the breakpoint than any ball i've ever thrown. (pin above one) There is absolutly zero squirt in the ball. Off the breakpoint there is nothing stronger on the market today, ball can handle a good amount of oil for being a pearl. This ball is extreamly clean in the heads, and saves tons of energy. The 2nd ball does what it is layed out to do. Pin under to get it into a roll early, mass bias under the thumb to get it to stand up on the backend. It gets threw the front very easily as the other due to the cover, is smoother than the 1st at the breakpoint. This layout works extreamly well when there is an extream dry to the right, or when playing up the boards. The stonger one i hit with 1500 out of the box, and reshined with magic shine, the other 2000 and then delayed reaction.

Nice arsenal of balls.  The question I have is what is this craze with pins being well above the fingers?  I noticed that your pin on the AA is real high above the fingers and was wondering why?  I noticed this one TJ's ball during that last couple of shows he was on.

Have you seen him throw the ball! WOW, Eric can turn it up. I would say the high pins help him get some more lenght out of them/save energy. The AA is pretty strong and early form what I've seen.

How about some vids of the AA and Machine?

james- no problem. if you have any questions or need to know anything else, let me know and i'll do what i can to help you. The AA is an absolutly amazing bowling ball, there should be at least 1 in everyone's bag. You can see I already have 2 and may very well be adding at least another.

chi- my track is pretty close to my thumb. The higher i put the pin, the farther it moves away. My AA, AR, Crash, and SolutionEX are pretty high up, for where my track is and the way i release the bowling ball, this gives me the legnth I want out of the ball. The red slash is the lowest pin i currently have, besides the champ. Right now i'm tracking right over the thumb on the champ and really close on the slash, i'm adding a hole on the champ to move my track off it. This is the reason i've never used the famed "rico" layout on anything.

I remember seeing vids you of from a while back.  Good review and nice pics!  I definitely want to hear more things about the Machine.  I'm a little hesitant to get one (when/if I can) because I wasn't very happy with the Xception 5.0's oil handling capabilities and reaction shape (didn't handle enough oil, and it was too smooth compared to what I expected).

Don't be afraid.....  The Machine is GREAT!  I got mine Wed. at 5:45 PM, had the plan in mind of what I was going to do with it (5x3x2 1/4) and punched it and threw it in the 6:15 league.  Couldn't wait. It has more backend than I expected.  Very strong at the break point. The Intermediate diff. doesn't require much friction to kick it over and send it screaming into the pins. I was able to play a deep inside angle and get the ball back from a long way. The next night I threw it in a 2nd shift league on Pro Anvil's. (very wet/dry). Performed nicely, but not the right pattern for this condition. Can't wait to take this ball to the USBC.
