Opinions Wanted
« on: February 13, 2006, 11:19:41 AM »
Hey FASTTRACKERS,

This thread is actually for my buddy Dain, whom I have been coaching, he was talking to me over the phone today and he told me what I thought would be a step up from the Desert Heat..the reason why he was asking is because in league, everything else of his hooked the lane way too much, but his Desert Heat wasn't strong enough to get back to the pocket...his arsenal is listed below...he has made it very clear that his next purchase WILL be a TRACK BALL...so, your opinions are needed, what would be a good step up from the Desert Heat? God Bless you all and have a great week!

Dain's Arsenal:
U-Turn Particle -- Label Drilling
Power Drive -- Pin Below Ring Finger, CG kicked out 2" w/ Weight Hole
Crunch Time -- Label Drilling
Desert Heat -- Pin Below the Bridge

* NOTE: Everything hooked way too much except the Desert Heat which didn't hook at all...

Try a Solution Power Plus EX its a couple of steps up from the Desert Heat another option could be the new Heat Blast as well.

Michael,

I actually agree with OG1, the hexplosion is an awesome choice.

However if you want something in the current line I would choose the Solution PP EX. I would definately make sure that it is drilled weak.

Was your friend's equipment rolling up too quick, or just snapping far too much?

By the numbers at the Track site, it seems the Heat Blast would be a good step up.

Just to put a rest to anymore comments......the Heat Blast is about 6 or 7 setps up from the Desert Heat. The Heat Blast is much too strong of a ball to place directly above the Desert Heat.

The Heat Blast has a HUGE flare potential, revs up pretty early and covers alot of boards in the backend as well.

If someone stayed in the Heat line, the Heat would be the next step up...but I feel it is too strong to be directly above the Desert unless it was drilled very weak.

Hey Steve,

I'd go with the Solution PP EX, the Heat is close to the CrunchTime IMHO. Maybe just a tad earlier than the CT but will handle the same amount of oil concentration.  The Solution EX is longer in comparison to the Heat and CT but stronger than the Desert.  Hope this helps some...

whatever he gets....put the pin above his fingers....has nothing in his current arsenal....everyone should have a ball w/that...very, very useful at times.....

I'll let the "track" guys finsh the details...(ie...MB in or swung out...ect)...am sure they'll all agree...and surprised none of them mentioned it....

Carl,

With his slow foot speed and delivery, everything besides the Desert Heat was hooking at the arrows, by the time the ball reached the back end, the result was either through the nose or brooklyn; however, the Desert Heat w/ the same foot speed never made it back to the pocket. Hope that answers your question buddy! God Bless you all and thanks for the feedback!

I would think that his Crunch Time would be a good choice.  If he needs a ball in between then I guess the Heat would be the next logical choice.

Michael,

Then definately a Solution PP EX. I would place the pin above the finger line as was already mentioned.....but place it like 5.5-6 inches from PAP.

The ball will turn the corner but not use anything in the front part of the lane.
