I'm having difficulty finding the right matchups for my Thursday night bowling league. The lanes are freshly oiled before the league starts, a medium pattern, dryer on the outside which proceedes to become dry by the second game, and lots of oil on the inside, which can cause carrydown problems in the third game, depending upon what line bowlers have been using. I've been trying other manufacturers equipment, Roto Grip, Ebonite, and Hammer, after a bad night using my Tracks (I lost confidence). Because the lanes are freshly oiled I'm gambling that I won't need a dry lane ball so, out goes the Desert Heat. I'm taking with me tonight my Mean Machine, Machine, Equation, Arsenal Artillery, and Heat Blast, plus my spare ball. I would like to use a 22 over 10 shot for the first game at least...I'm just comfortable with that shot..simple down and in. I'm hoping the Artillery or Heat Blast will work. If not, then I believe I can use a 30 over 15 shot with the Equation....at least I can and did for a third game conditions with success. If it skids too much, then move deeper and use the Mean Machine. Or use the Machine on about the same shot as the Equation. That's the idea anyway. All of these balls are drilled with the ring finger to the left of the pin, and are in out of box condition. I've lost confidence with the Solution Power Plus Ex as, when I used it a couple of weeks ago, it failed to carry at all and, due to carry down, didn't want to make a move to the pocket consistently. However, I also know it might have been me. It was that night that the Equation, which was too much early with a 22 over 10 shot, did work on the inside shot quite well in the Third game. I'm just not sure, with it's shiny cover, that it will make the move needed early in the night. So.....advise? Ideas? Hand holding? Shoulder to cry on? (I did have some success...a 555 with the Hammer Raw Doom and Black Widow- barely- on Tuesday but I really want to use my Tracks.) Almost forgot....my ball speed is relatively slow.
