Almost converted. Need a 3rd Ball
« on: April 03, 2006, 11:22:06 AM »
Hi All,

I'm a high rev player, playing on a long patterned house shot. I'm currently using storm stuff, but for next season I'm swithing to Track. So far I got an Arsenal Reactive and a Rule Delta. They both have a 3 inch pin. I'm going to put the pin under my ring finger on both. The delta will have the mb at 45 degrees and the AR is going to be a 1:30 label drill.

What would you suggest for a third ball? I don't want to get anything too long for the heavy oil I bowl in. I'm thinking of getting the heat blast. Am I on the right "track"?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Great forum!!!  I have learned a lot.

I haven't had much success with particle balls.  They have had a tendency to roll out on me.  Is the robo rule more like a reactive ball?

Roll out?  With a Swamp Monster?  It's one of the highest-load particle balls ever made.  And very dull, to boot.  Unless your laneman is dumping the oil out of the bucket, it's going to burn up.

If you already have a reactive and a delta 1 I would suggest you get an Arsenal Artillery. You could drill it with an identical layout to the Reactive and get a different reaction. It will be cleaner through the front than the Reactive, but it will recover very well down the lane.

The Heat Blast in comparison is a little weaker than the Artillery.

I like both ideas of the Artillery and Robo. I prefer the Robo in oil as the light load of particles will help it pick up a tisker quicker, which is what you need if the oil is that heavy. To top it off, because it is just a light load, it is very close to what a reactive ball would be. To make a particle ball, they start with a resin base (Goo in this case, which was on the original Rule) and then add some particles....

I would have to agree on EXCALIBER I would go with the Arsenal Artilery.  Personally (for me anyway) the Delta One is a strong enough ball to play most heavy oil shots anyway.

The question isn't why do I throw all Track, it's why don't you.

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Heat Blast, Triton Heat,  Desert Heat, Blue Enforcer, Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing Glove

Thanks for the responses.  With the delta and the AR, I think I have the heavy oil and carry down covered.  I was thinking of something less than these two balls for my third. (I probably should have mentioned that, sorry.) =/

From what you've told me, and what I've read from some of the other track forums, sounds like the arsenal artillery is a great ball for my situation.

This forum is great. Thanks for the help.
