Rule..a nice weapon to have
« on: February 12, 2005, 02:51:57 AM »
Drilled a Rule to use in my Friday night league. Lanes can be very sloppy at best. Set it up pin over ring finger and mb about an inch and a half right of my thumb. I don't have numbers on my speed or rev rate but I'm a little above average in speed and above average in revs, high track, about 1/4 inch from both finger and thumb.

I was looking for something stronger than my Hyde and the Rule definitely fit the bill. It was a good six boards stronger. What really impressed me was the versatility of the Rule. The right lane was easily 10 boards tighter than the left. I was able to easily square up more and still get a great read. While other bowlers were pinging ten's and leaving swishing 7's, I was able to play a few boards deeper and still have enough finish to carry. What amazed me about the ball was that on the left lane, even though I needed to force the ball through the heads more, the Rule never checked up early. I was able to swing it (22-12) and have it finish with enough energy to carry.

All in all, I couldn't be more pleased. I was never a huge Track fan, but this ball really has opened up my eyes. Thanks to Excaliber for some good info on the Rule, it definitely helped in the drilling process.
