Title: Animal
Post by: leftykingpin on May 01, 2005, 01:24:10 AM
Thinking of getting an Animal.Need a ball that hooks a ton. Is this ball snappy or more of a hard arc to the hole? throw 17 mph, high track, high revs, swing 20 to 10. will an animal work for me?

With only the info you supplied I would think that the Rule GP2 would be a better fit. The Animal is a very "arcy" ball, the GP2 has more backend movement.

Hey leftyk,

How heavy a condition do you encounter or want to use this ball on?  The Animal can be a little snappy if shined up and drilled that way but then the condition that it would be effective on is more of a med to med lite oil.

On a heavier oil condition, I'd definitely go with Excaliber's suggestion of a GP2.  Currently, this is the strongest hooking ball on the market for heavy oil.

Can't add too much, GP2 is pretty good for many people right now!

Make sure there is oil. And i do strss oil I try to play 20-25ish to 9-10 and my gp2 is still burning out on me. I went from max leverage to very tame. Pin is in the center above bridge,cg under the ring finger, mb drilled right on the thumb. The ball is def an oil eating monster but might think its not cause its burning out on you on what you think is heavy oil. That brings up a good question. What is considered heavy oil. People around here think a norm fresh house shoot is oil. Where i consider it med.

Haven't bought the GP2 yet but my 2nd Animal has 5 x 5 drill with MB near VAL and about 7/8 on the side - this gets it down the lane and does snap more than my original. However, this one does not handle the true heavy stuff.
