« on: September 07, 2005, 07:08:52 AM »
I am a 16 year old bowler with a 180+ average, my coach has an animal untaimed that he was looking to give to sum1. i was wondering if you could tell me the different sandings that you have had and the reaction you have gotten. i use a fair amount of hand with a 17mph average throw. thanks for the help

Sandings ??? Not quite sure what you mean by that (maybe coverstock adjustments???) but I have one that I rolled a 299 with last year. It's been good for me ever since I had it shined up a bit to get it through the heads and the midlanes and to save the reaction for the backends.

Great ball...I always like to try a ball with the surface on it currently, then after some use, determine if the reaction you are getting is what you want or not. If it is not, then try some surface adjustments. If you want the ball to roll earlier, try some slight sanding adjustments, little by little. If it is burning up early(rolling too quick) or you want more backend reaction, try some Magic Shine, it should get the job done!

Like Clint said, try what's on it. Just because someone shot a 300 or whatever and their cover was at 800 doesn't mean anything, really. It has everything to do with your speed, revs, etc. and the lane conditions you're bowling on. If they're seeing more oil than you, they could get away with much more surface, whereas the same surface prep for you might burn out with less oil in your house. We haven't even touched on the differences in revs, speed, etc. that will play an equally important role in ball reaction differences for the both of you.
This is where I bow out and our resident experts chime in.

well i mean like i usually have a dulled ball at about 600 or 800 and i was wondering how to have it sanded for sport conditions because i heard that this ball hooks a lot and i need one for sport conditions. i currently have a brunswick intense inferno sanded to 600 and drilled witht he pin about 2 inches to the right of the ring finger with a hole in the side.
