The better of the two depends on many things. Most especially what lane conditions you are throwing on. For heavier oil, the Rule is a better choice. For med/heavy, the Untamed would be great. Both are great balls but are designed to do totally different things. What conditions do you throw on and what kind of reaction are you looking to get??

Well, the are each better than the other in certain conditions. The Rule (for me) is more of a heavy oil ball, and can has more backend. The Animal Untamed is great for the medium (for me) but has a tendency to back off on carrydown. I have 2 of each ball, one with its out of box cover, and 1 of each polished up with some Track Magic Shine. All drills are pin under ring, cg in the palm, with the mass bias ending either under the thumb or left of the thumb ( I am right handed, high track, 17-18 MPH, so higher speed as well). The Rule is better for the heavier oil or for some carrydown, where the AU would not get into a good roll or handle the carrydown,  and the Animal Untamed is better for the medium condition where the Rule may burn too early and lose some of its pop.
The ball to choose would depend on a few factors: Amount of oil, carrydown?, and your specs as well (PAP, MPH etc)

I will be more than happy to try to help you, so write at any time. I am sure Rick and Ex will chime in as well with their opinions too!

THANKS!

Thanks for the reply fellas. I have the animal untamed and also have the animal. Ive only had the animal for about a month and the untamed not even a week. The rule kind of caught my eye and I liked the specs on it. I just wondered if it would be worth getting being that I have both those voids filled with having the animal for heavy oil, and the untamed for mediums. I was just wondering how much it was considered better than the untamed, or if they were not that far off from each other.

lil,

The Rule will cover more boards than the Untamed. It will cover similiar boards to the Animal....but in a different manner. The Animal rolls earlier and is stronger on longer patterns. The Rule wants to get down the lane more than the Animal and has a more angular move to the pocket. There is enough seperation between the 3 to justify getting the Rule, IF you want that strong backend move. If you already get that move out of your Untamed then you may not need the Rule.
For me, the Untamed gets into a strong roll early....but is not meant to cover the heavier stuff that the Rule will handle.

I hope this helps, and as usual, if you have any other questions feel free to message me.

What I did lilphyzx was polish my Untamed to get a little better separation from my Rule.  My Rule opens up shots much easier than my Untamed so by polishing it, I've made that a med lite ball now.  So yes, it can still fit to answer your question.  Hope this helps...

Between the 2 which would be more forgiving?

I see the Rule as more of a forgiving ball with its out of box cover than the Animal Untamed. The Rule I have polished does squirt on heavy oil (not meant for it anyhow when its highly polished, plus there are better choices to use from Track on heavy oil). All around, I see my Animal as the most forgiving, but I am also partial to particles, and the Animal Untamed and Rule are both reactives, so take that into consideration when I said the Animal is the most forgiving.

Of the 2 I would say that the Rule is more forgiving, it is more angular so it will be able to recover from deeper lines. You will see the forgiveness more with the Rule dull, because as Clint says, the Rule tends to be squirty on the heavier stuff when it is polished.
