another thumbs up for the Slash
« on: April 16, 2005, 09:18:12 AM »
Had the chance to use this ball in a practice session at a house I haven't bowled in since my college days (15 years ago) in North Reading, MA. The conditions were a little scrubbed due to being a Saturday afternoon (probably no re-oiling in the morning after leagues and glow bowling) but the only two balls in my bag that handled the conditions well were the Panic and this piece of work. I was able to play a little wider on the lane due to the oil handling capabilities of the Slash (targeting 13 at the arrows out to 2 or 3 at the breakpoint) and this ball would teaar apart the pocket once it made it there. I have a feeling on the right condition this ball will be seeing more action just like it did in the Tournament of Champions for a few of the pro bowlers.

Another winner Track- keep them coming.

Slash may be the most overlooked ball in the past year from any company....but with the showing last week at the TOC and Duke throwing it this week, maybe it will catch on!

I say keep producing it if there is a demand for it.

People in general complain when an exact duplicate copy is released of a ball, but when the Silver Streak and Tour Power were discontinued, people then complained and wanted them reintroduced. Ball companies will take heat either way with heir decisions.

Slash has been on TV 3 times in the past 2 telecasts, 10 bowlers total:

Storm-Pederson
Dynothane (2)-Jaros
Columbia-Barnes
Ebonite-Jones
Hammer-Allen
MoRich-Wiseman
Track (3)Duke twice and Goebel, all with the Slash!

is this ball not a re- re- re- re- re- release of the elite core? geat core,great cover, but how many times can you re0-name this ball? i have been track faithful for a long time, i have even bought the different versions of it, but geez, introduce somthing NEW!

Exactly.
Slash = Elite Solid
Crunch Time = Elite Pearl
KO Punch = Elite Pearl
Elite = Elite Solid
Elite Pearl = Elite Pearl

Same ball with slightly tweaked covers over the last 7+ years. Next Ebonite will release a new line with the V2 core in it.....

It is not the same ball...as it has been changed from the Elite (owner of both and can assure you not the same ball..;-)..)...

Nothing wrong with tweaking something successfull and creating something even better is there??

Just wondering...

The Slash does have a different coverstock if I remember correctly.

The Slash is one ball in their current line up  of 8 balls, soon to be 9 at the end of the month. I would have to say if someone wants something new, look at the High Perf asymmetricals.....cutting edge technology in the whole line. Don't judge a whole company by one ball.

so anyways back to subject.

i said it once and ill say it again, the slash is a sleeper ball. every time i thorw it in my house people want to know what it is and how come they never seen it before. i even had one dude ask me if it was and old school ball or if it was some special release.
