Another update on the Havoc on my shorter sport pattern
« on: July 08, 2005, 07:37:56 AM »
Well, I have had the chance to use the Havoc now on a couple of my sport patterns in addition to my Monday night adult/junior league on a THS. A couple of the desk people were impressed on Monday night when I pulled that ball out of the bag and I was able to get a great smooth look on the lanes with this piece- especially considering they had just resurfaced and rescreened the lanes. It took me a couple of games to find the right angle to carry (as I left a ton of back row single pins in game one and two playing outside and inside) but by the middle of game three I was able to pipe it well from 8 to 4 without a super severe snap from the ball and I finished the night with a clean 656, including a 235 finale.

Thursday night we saw the 34' short sport pattern for the 3rd time in my 7 weeks bowling this league. I had been facing issues playing 18-12 with this pattern with my Animal and Rule due to the almost reverse block reaction I would get at the end of the pattern (even though the number of units play 80 from 1-10 and 65 inside of that...). I started with the Havoc and was able to play that same line with slower ball speed and had no overreaction at the end of the pattern. Started with a clean 211 game including a 4 bagger at the end of the game, and then proceed to move it out and keep it tighter for game two with a 15-11 line, 192. Since I started to have trouble carrying I pulled out my Animal for game three and played a little further out in the oil.... I finished the night with a 574, my best series on this pattern to date.

Makes me almost want to go out and pick up a Sheer Havoc for a medium particle slot I need to fill....

Matt

MSC,
Please quit tempting me as it could end up costing me money...lol

I too have a Havoc drilled approx 4 x 4 (PIN under RF and MB 4" from PAP and weight hole just under the PAP). This ball with some surface change and
Finesse-It polish has become my #1 ball on the conditions I bowl on. First ball out of my bag every time as well as being my benchmark ball. I was considering buying another Havoc and drill a bit different for other conditions. Finally I got up the nerve to talk myself out of it and darned if you don't come long and tempt me again...lol

Glad you like yours. I love mine too.

Hey Matt, that would be a great fit for you if you can still find one.  If not, the 5.0 drilled weaker may also fit that bill.
