James,
The Yeah Baby for medium-heavy to heavy ... the Rule is best for medium at best, IMHO.

Sorry, RObb, The Rule will handle medium to medium-heavy with ease, depending on your hand and the drill. I'm just not sure for him, being a stroker. The YB will handle much more carrydown. The RUle is  also asymmetric.

excuse my ignorance but i have no idea what carrydown is. will the yeah baby then be better for longer and heavier oil patterns? (sorry i also dont know my PAP and many of the other things people on here usually ask for)

Based upon his knowledge and experience, I'll defer to Charlest on this issue and stand corrected. (This is getting to be a bad habit ... being corrected by Jeff; guess that I need to reload mentally).

Carrydown is when the oil (applied in the first 30-40 feet of the lane) carries down to the last 20 or so feet.  Basically, your ball will have more trouble making its move on the backend because there are fewer dry boards to react to.  Because particle balls bite through oil better than reactives (in general), they tend to perform well in carrydown situations.  Duller balls work well, too, as they will read the lane sooner than polished (or higher-grit) balls.  The Rule was 1500-grit or so, the YB is around 800-1000-grit.

As for your PAP, it isn't as important that you know it as it is that your driller knows it.  Or can find it.  If you have a consistent release, your driller should be able to find your PAP close enough that he can lay out an asymmetric ball.

Many apologies, Robb, that should have been sent in a private message.

I have seen both in action and its a hard call. For Heavy I think the Yeah Baby will be better than the Rule but, they both can do Medium Heavy. Both are quality choices. I say the Yeah baby will be better if you like playing up the boards more than swinging the ball but, the Rule IMO is more angular and would be better if you like to swing.
