I have never really been brand loyal during the 20 years or so I have been bowling.  My current arsenal consists of Radical, Elite, DV8, Motiv, Columbia, and Track.  I have all but retired the Elite stuff as it is VERY condition specific.  I am currently carrying my DV8 Endless Nightmare, Motiv Primal Rage, and the Track 400A SE.

Several weeks ago, I had the 400A SE drilled up but never used it until this past week.  This might be the best ball I have ever used.  I only have 4 games on it, but have averaged 210 over the past 4 games.  The ball has been very versatile, very consistent, and has great carry.

I also have a 716T that I really like, but put it away because the thumb slug dropped down into the ball and I haven't had a chance to get it replaced yet.

Then I remembered that my only 300 game was rolled with a Track Triton Elite Pearl back in 1998.

I am starting to think that Track might be "my brand" but I never realized it.  Once I get the 716T thumb replaced, I may pick up an HX16 and try an all Track arsenal for a while and see how it goes.

I have always kind of liked trying stuff from multiple brands, but I am starting to think I am not really doing myself any favors.  Sure it gives me multiple ball motions, technologies, etc.  However I am starting to think it is negatively impacting overall consistency and reliability.  Who knows!!

The 400a is one of my favorite balls. I have been thinking about getting the tour x solid next.

The 607A is one of my favorite balls ever and the 400A became a great ball for me after I figured it out.

Once there's a spot in my bag, I might have to give the Legion a chance.

If you need a oiler, the Paradox is just plain SICK!!

Not trying to say that Track ISNT your brand, but I don't know how you could possibly determine that based on 4 games with one ball and a 300 from 17 years ago.

My 300C is drilled pin down below the ring finger.  Playing anywhere between 8 to 15 board the ball is smooth and controllable.  Then it makes a strong turn to the pocket.  Not a skid/flip snap and not a arch like I was expecting with pin down.  Just a strong left turn to the pocket for ten in the pit.  Maybe this is why I like this ball so much.  I was expecting an arch shape , but I got more and I love the reaction.

I have had dozens of balls over the past 20 years.  Maybe five of those have stood out as being truly exceptional.  As I think back over the years, the Track stuff I had (Triton Elite Pearl)/have now (716T, 400A SE) seem to match up best to my game.  The 400A SE is one of those exceptional pieces.

And that's fine, but seems much more circumstantial than brand-related.  We're talking about 3 balls over 17 years. Track fired several ball designers over the years, so Each ball even had a different ball designer. Covers changed dramatically in 17 years. The only thing those balls have in common is Track stamped on the side.

I also question that the 400 could be considered officially exceptional after 4 games, all of which were, I assume, on one alleys house shot.

Here is my comparison for these balls and you can do what you want with it (I am assuming you are referring to the 300c Solid not the pearl).

All balls drilled pin down between bridge except the Tour X Solid. (Pin in Ring)

300c solid would be (for me) the most aggressive out of the bunch followed by the Tour X Solid, Tour X and 400a.

I never really liked the 400a it seemed very squirrelly. I would get it to read like I wanted and then the very next shot not read at all. Change surface and it did the same thing, play a different part of the lane, different oil pattern I just never found anything it rolled well on (most of the other staffers loved the ball).

The 300c solid is that solid. This ball was and still is a bail out ball for me. With the PIN down drilling for me it gives me an arch. This is the first ball out on Cheetah for me.

Tour X. I never really fell in love with this ball either. I like it but it has become a condition specific ball for me. If the lanes are dry and you need something to go left (or right) at the end of the pattern that is what this ball will do.

Tour X Solid I only really have like 9 games on this ball. I like what I see. I was using it on a THS burn. It reads the mids better than the Pearl and isn't so strong in the back end. Its a solid and rolls like a solid.
