Rule Delta1 or Arsenal Reactive
« on: October 30, 2005, 07:58:56 AM »
I am lookinf doe a track ball that might be a good ball to go to if my animal can't quite handle the amount of oil on the lane.  My Animal is more of a medium oil ball for me as I am a stroker without a whole lot of hand...

I have a:

1. Dynothane Energy
2. Freakazoid
3. Arsenal Angular
4. Animal

I just love the way track balls hit and was looking for a heavier oiler for a stroker type that throws up the boards..  Arsonal Reactive? Rule Delta ?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions...

I can't speak for the AR, but I have a Delta 1 that is just too much for medium oil. It's a beast!

I just drilled up an Arsenal Reactive and it worked great going up the boards. Out of box it was a little strong for me so I lightly polished it and all I can say is wow. The last game I practiced with it I shot 299 and last night in league I shot 259, 231, and 267. What an incredible hit.

Go with the Rule GP2.  If it'll be used for heavy oil, put a strong and early rolling drilling (ie. drill it with a low leverage pin and the mass bias swung out on or passed your VAL).  It will hook earlier when your Animal isn't quite grabbing the lane early enough.  If you need a ball for heavy oil, particle balls (ie. the Rule GP2) get the job done.

Another option is to scuff the Animal with a good burgundy or green scoth-brite pad and use it as a heavy oil ball.  You can then put the Arsenal Reactive under it (for med/heavy-med).

I agree with tink....if you have a true heavy oil the Animal can not handle, right now the perfect ball for that is the GP2....it is an oil loving monster!

Hey Lane,

As mentioned, I'd also suggest the GP2 or the Delta for you since you mention you're more of a stroker.  I always preach about having more strength is better then not having enough.

Lefty,

How is your Animal drilled? The Animal is a pretty strong ball.

Taking layouts out of the picture, I would also suggest the Rule GP2 for the heavier oil pattern. If you are on a heavier pattern with fresh backends the Delta would work as well, but if you are on a longer heavier pattern then GP2 is above everything else.

Goodluck,
Carl

How is your Dynothane Energy?  I have GP2 and am thinking about another strong ball, with more length?  Like you, not too much hand.

I feel that you would like the reactive for heavy oil being a stroker.  With the low RG this ball will want to turn earlier.  This should help you on heavy oil.  I'm telling you this is one strong ball.  I would be afraid of how much mine would hook if I took a green scotchbrite pad to it.  I have mine polished with magic shine and drilled to go long and let me tell you this ball is fantastic.
