xception vs. Doom raw hammer

Hey fellas how different are these two balls. Which will give you more on the backend.

After seeing both balls in action over the last week, my observations are as follows:

The Hammer Raw Doom will go longer and give you more backend and angularity at the break point.

The Xception will start up sooner and not be as angular.

The hit of the Hammer Raw Doom isnt anywhere near the hit you get from the Xception though. The Xception really smacks the pins around whereas the Hammer doesnt carry all that well.

These were my observations.

I echo what Rock said.

For as long and angular as the Xception is, the doom is longer. The Xception does hit/carry much better overall....

Rock,

from the verbal picture you drew, i'd say the oil pattern was meant for the Xception and was too heavy for the raw doom. isn't the raw doom meant/intended for lighter oil than the Xception? my xception in stock finish can't be used on less than medium oil.

Actually, they have been oiling very light at my house. I would have to say that the lanes were more suitable for the Hammer rather than the Xception. I can use my Xception on med/light, but yes, the Hammer will be better when the lanes have less oil. The cover and core on the Xception are stronger than that of the Hammer.

Oh, I know that the Xception is a stronger ball overall. It also costs a lot more.

Actually a more appropriate comparison is probably a Raw Doom and a Solution PowerPlus Ex. But I bet the Solution would win that contest too; after all why else would I have one. (sorry; I don't usually do that; I do like the Solution a  LOT!)

I just grabbed another xception and sold my other a while ago. My new xception has the pin below and almost to the right of the fingers with the mb and cg kicked almost diagonal from it. I havent thrown it yet but was considering grabbing a doom raw hammer. My decision was whether i even needed to get it, if the xception was decent enough.

Oh, I know that the Xception costs alot more, but you pay for the technology.

As for the PP EX, all your talk about it is making me really want to dive into one of these. I already want the Solution solid. Sheesh, make me spend more money!!

I disagree with the hit statement.  The Doom hits much better than the xception did for me.  I had two xceptions and have 2 dooms.  For me the Doom is a much better ball.  Big backend but controllable unlike the xception.

Another point I would like to make about the Doom is this.  To say this ball doesn't hit as hard or carry better than the xception is false in my opinion.  The Doom has awesome pin action.  I'm sorry I love tracks equipment but to say the Doom doesn't hit better than the xception is not true in my opinion.

To answer the post question:  If you want a ball to go long and be strong on the back plus be controllable then the Doom is your ball.  Not to mention it's a lot cheaper than the xception.

Most people on this site know I love tracks equipment but whe you ask me which ball is better and I have /had both I will give you my honest opinion.  The Doom all the way in this comparison.
