hello this is my 1st post but i have been reading these for awhile now. I just got my 1st track ball since my old triton elite i got an xception so far io have about 9 games on it and have not shot under 180 i only have a 170 avg. i think i might be sold on track again . the x is drilled pin above and to the right of the ring finger with mb left of my thumb by my track the ball doesnt seem to hook too much and allows my to play inside line .

Won't hurt the ball a bit, may hurt your release and timing if the thumbhole is not a cylinder.

thanx clint would you suggest putting a thumb slug in it then. i think i really like the mb on the left side of the thumb gives me more control then even my barb wire i think . but the x  seem to hit and carry heck of alot more.

I would suggest a thumb slug. By drilling out for the slug, it will get rid of the problem and the new thumb hole the slug gives you will be clean off your hand!

I also suggest using a thumb slug. Not having a "straight" wall in the thumbhole can hurt you quite a bit over time.

Hey nebowler, Welcome to the Track forum.

Many of the current balls today which have a lower rg have a lighter material used to fill around the core which can cause this to happen.  Another reason is if your driller's bit is getting  a little dull also.

Normally, not to worry so long as it's not irritating your hand.  Actually, have your driller put on a new sanding disk (with one old behind it too) and sand against the part that moved if you don't want to use a thumb insert/slug.  Hope this helps explain some...

Welcome to Track my friend. As the others have stated, please have a thumb slug installed in your ball. Having that ledge inside the thumb hole could hurt your thumb, cause you to squeeze the ball, or just rip your thumb up.

Feel free to ask us questions anytime!
