arsenal reactive questions
« on: August 29, 2005, 07:15:13 AM »
How many of you guys have thrown the arsenal reactive?  What was your impression of this ball?  Track says this ball has a big backend.  Does this sound correct with the low rg of this ball?  I also read in BTM that the reactive has a super strong mid lane and backend reaction are they farily accurate with there reviews of this ball?

I ordered the reactive today.  I have a good idea how i'm going to drill this ball.  I'm probably going to drill it with the pin above the bridge(5 1/4" to pap) and cg kicked right to 1 oz and no x-hole.  I have had some good sucsess with this layout on some other track balls.  I figured that with the low rg of this ball and it being real strong that the long pin to pap will increase the backend strength.

Have any of you guys drilled low rg balls with a pin above and 5+ inches from pap?  If so, how did they work for you?

Like a few staffers have mentioned, the Reactive I believe is extremely close to the Absolute Inferno in reaction. Strong midlane roll and a strong arc backend. It's gonna hard to get it to snap with a dull surface and low RG. I have an Absolute drilled with the pin above bridge, 5" to pap, CG kicked out to the right a bit and fairly close to the ring finger. I belive that's a higher RG layout like BrunsRich stated that will offer a decent backend.

On the lanes, my Absolute is too much for mediums as it is found burning up more often than not. And that's a length and backend layout! Longer patterns of medium or medium-heavy oiled lanes beware. This thing is a monster. Sounds like your Reactive will react similarly minus the personal specs. But mine on medium-heavy clears the heads smoothly, revs up hard in the midlane, and has a nice powerful strong arc. What I love best is the continuation...whether that is the drill or the ball I dont know.

I planned on using this ball for med/heavy conditions.  Basically another option other than my animal that I have drilled for this condition.  I also plan on using this ball with some magic shine to increase the length and more backend.

I'd love to polish my AI up to get it more usuable on medium patterns instead of just medium-heavy though I'd be out of a perfect med-heavy ball. Good luck with the Reactive, hope it works out for ya. Let us know how it goes.

chitown,

The Arsenal Reactive gives a decent midlane with a TON of backend. I was actually shocked when it turned left as strong as it did even with the OOB surface.
Picture an identical reaction to the Arsenal Aggressive, just add backend. I don't believe it is going to handle the same volume of oil (reactive vs particle), but it will be close----and a different look on the lane.
