If I had 2 arsenal angulars and had one drilled with the pin below the ring and cg kicked right to 1oz and the second one drilled the exact smae but the pin above the ring how much difference in length do you think I would see?

Good question chi, it varies upon each individual of course. Not only does an individual's speed, tilt, revs affect this, so does the amount of friction the balls can create at the time.  

On a blended shot or a shot where friction cannot be created say until after 40 feet, both balls will look very similar.  If the lanes are very dry, both balls may pick up too soon and you may still not see much of a difference.  Also keep in mind that pin above or below also may change the distance to a bowler's pap, thus causing another difference in overall reaction.  A little tough to say bud....wish it were simpler then that.

Chi....you know my experiment with the GP2s....it can be done. Just need to be careful on layouts so not to dupe and the key is matching drill to surface!

So if I wanted to drill 2 angulars I would definitely have to make sure the layouts are very different from each other.  Maybe this wouldn't be a good ball to do this with.  A skid flip ball maybe hard to put a drastically different layout on.  Have any of you ever put a label layout on an angular?

It's not the skid/flip characteristic that is hard to modify with a drilling; it's a low Rg differential that is hard to modify. The Diff on the AA is high enough so that if one ball had a 3-3.5" pin-PAP and another had a 4.5-5.5" pin-PAP distance, that would be plenty to differentiate their use and ball paths.

Hey, don't forget that some very minor surface tuning will make a bigger difference on one of those balls!! Either a slightly hazing with a nylon pad on one of them or some extra polish on another together with the drilling difference and you have two complementary balls.

I'm leaning towards doing this with the angular.  I was wondering if any of you have drilled a skid flip type ball with a label layout?  For me a label layout causes the ball to arc into the pocket smoothly.  Basically it takes the big jump away.  Great for high flying backends.
