« on: February 20, 2005, 04:14:38 PM »
I recently got back into bowling for the last 6 months but when i was in high school and bowled i never used a cleaner... How important is it to clean the balls and what should i get for my track FAZ and Rule GP2 if i wanted to clean them??? Only thing i do know is wipe the off before each shot... Thanks...

Clean & Dull is a cleaner, their most aggressive cleaner; should be used once a month or thereabouts. Too powerful to be used every day.
Reaction Plus is their every day cleaner.
Clean and Smooth is a surface modifier. Do NOT use it to clean balls.

I advise all of my customers, if they want their bowling balls to last, to clean them after every use. Taking the oil and grime off the ball will help improve performance and the ball will have a longer life. Its just like your car, if you live in an area where there is snow, etc, if you never clean your car, it eventually will rust. If you don't clean your ball, it will eventually break down as well.

Charlest, what does it do to the ball if used everyday? I can find nothing in the instructions on my bottle indicating this. If it damages or hurts the ball, wouldn't there be something in the instructions about that?

I think it's just that Clean N' Dull is so strong that it doesn't make sense to use it on a regular daily/weekly basis if the ball isn't used a lot and there's not that much oil/dirt/grime on the ball.

Is clean N dull better to use on a spinner or by hand? Anyone know?

There should be instructions on the bottle, and instructions are always best to follow  I heard that using a spinner and applying a little too much pressure may polish the ball, but I'm not too sure on that.  I like cleaning by hand

That's Track Reaction Plus that does that and not Clean & Dull.

I just received an email from Brian Pursel and he stated he did not know of any reason or thing to NOT use Clean N Dull as an everyday cleaner. I questioned him if it was too strong, etc, and he said no.

I use Clean n Dull after every 6-9 games (sometimes less) on dull equipment. On polished equipment I clean them with Clean n Dull after every set. I have no noticed any side effects or draw backs to this method.
