Questions about coverstocks
« on: September 10, 2006, 11:14:12 PM »
I just recently purchased a KO Punch from Onebigtwister.  Ball has close to about 100 games on it so I was wanting to resurface it once I receive it.  Does anyone remember what the OOB coverstock for this ball is?

Also I am wanting to take my heat blast back to oob. Does anyone know the OOB condition for the Heat Blast is?

Link below says "sanded", but not the actual grit number/value; you MAY want to contact TRACK via their phone number or by email.
If you want to play around with it, you could start with a low grit wet-sand around 400 and then go up to 800; I'm pretty sure that will get you close to the original OOB.
If you want play with it some more, depending upon how that "new" 800 cover performs, you could follow it with a TRACK compound polish, like their Clean N Sheen, and take it up a little higher to around 1200 to 1500 grit. (Not positive about those figures, but a little research on your part should get you more specific answers).
 Good luck !!!

Heat Blast is COmpound polish.
Sand it to 800 or 900 grit and apply Track's Clean and Sheen.

Oddly the KO Punch is not on Track's archive list. Either phone Track directly
or start with 800 or 1000 grit and work your way from there to whatever suits your purposes.

charlest is correct it is not listed on Track's archive list.  I have already checked out bowlingballreviews.com and It wasn't much help.  Thanks though

Hey cfi, I remember the ball being a little dull OOB and I'd agree with what Charlest states here.
