Bad batch of Rules? Alternatives?
« on: February 10, 2005, 06:54:34 AM »
I surrender. I've redrilled a Rule 3 times, sanded, polished, everything. This ball is a dud (2 boards MAX) in all surfaces, all conditions, wood, synthetic, etc. Forget trying to give me suggestions.  I've seen other Rules work fine, but this one is DOA every day, every way, every house.
In theory, does anyone know of a bad batch of Rules and any alternatives to what I simply have to consider is the most expensive lemon I've ever seen?

try contacting Track, or asking some of the track people here.  They should be able to point you in the right direction.

sounds like a good ball on dry lanes.

some see a lemon and make lemon aid.
there are people clamoring for a high tech core for dry lanes. you have one. even if it is by mistake.

one of the best dry lanes balls I ever owned ( pre resin) was a firebolt 2. it was supposed to be a hook monster and it stunk in oil. I polished the P I S S out of it and all it ever did was go straight turn over and go striaght again. no rolling arc. accuracy was needed becuse it did not provide any area.
back in the day I put a little something something on the ball.
I use to swing a Black Diamond 4th arrow out to the G. so most urethane's were too strong unless it was long and wet.

Where's your mb at i have 2 rules one long pin over ring finger with 2000 grit smooth and this ball goes long and snaps hard. My other one is under ring finger mb in strong position between val and thumb and i cannot use this ball because it hooks too much.

It is possible to get a junk ball as i have found out with another brand which i will not slam tonight. It was there so called big hooking ball that did nothing and my pro shop guy that has over 25 revs and has won over a million as an amateur could not even hook it.

I am keeping my opinions of stuff to myself from the bashing i took this week, i will no longer say what i think about a ball or person from a company again. I will protest the correct way and not buy there products in the future.

lefty50,

Contact Track at 1-800-837-1106, I am sure they will be able to help you in some way. Just do yourself a favor, do not be rude. People that are nice usually tend to get better results from companies than people that are rude.

Thanks group. I'll try it and see. Right now, it's a very expensive straight ball. Low rev lefties on house floods don't need a dry lane ball  ;(

Really? Gee, let me give that full consideration. Wow, the great EXCALIBUR and rules on life.
Since when does considering the potential of a bad Track ball = rude?

Can't tolerate a negative comment on Track, can you?

lefty50, Don't know what your problem is, and I really could care less.

All EX was trying to do was point you in the right direction.

If this site had 50 more likle EXCALIBER and a couple less like you this would be a great site.

If you don't like Track and the Rule isn't working for you, just go to another company.  It's one thing to dislike a ball and seek advice, but if you get offended and start to bash people for giving advice, you won't find much help.

Track staffers are among the nicest and most helpful bowlers I've come across.  This may not be the case with you, but regardless of ball company preference biases, it's just wrong to bad-mouth anyone.

lefty50,

I am sorry if you took my post in the wrong way. Basically what I was saying is that people in MANY customer service departments do not respond well to someone that calls yelling, screaming and cursing. I was not saying that you were being rude and I hope you did not take it that way. You were not being rude whatsoever, you were only seeking advice, and I was trying to help you as best I could.
