I won the ball a day for the 10th...Now that I'm done doing my little happy dance, I need some suggestions on which ball to pick. I'm not really happy with my "arsenal", see my profile. I've found that I use the Xcel most of the time at my house because the sheer doesn't quite have enough bite. The heat is a little stronger than I thought. There is a lot of overlap, I know. I apologize for my ignorance in drillings, and my specs, I will try to get some pictures up of how they are laid out (excuse the condition of the tips, I've been trying to find a decent driller to check the spans) I normally throw about 16.5 mph (quibica), stand left foot on 18.5 board, and play a tiny swing from 10 to 8. Please offer suggestions and any questions. I'm thinking maybe a mean machine for heavier than the xcel, or maybe a desert heat for light. Thanks in advance

I think something that may help you overall is getting everything being the same weight, With that said, I would eliminate your Xcel and either pick up a Mean or a Robo for your heavier oil. The Robo will be sooner and better able to handle heavier oil than the Mean, while the Mean is a monster in its own right, but is longer (for me) than the Robo with a much more defined move at the back.
If you were replacing apples with apples, I would get the Robo as it and the Xcel are both particle...but, its a free ball...

I understand what you are saying about sticking to one weight, and I have the utmost respect for your knowledge and skill Clint, and I don't doubt you, but would the robo be stronger than the xcel? my xcel has about 300 games on it, and it's still oob (lane polished). It's as strong as I need. I don't switch balls in mid-set. I throw the Sheer in practice, if it's not enough I go to the Xcel. I usually end up with the Xcel. I understand about replacing the Xcel with the robo, but I don't want the robo to be too strong for the shot I see.

Totally understand your point. Maybe you should wait for the Inertia. Without seeing the specs myself, I have no idea how strong it may be, but that might be a choice as well. As for the Robo, I see it being earlier than the Xcel due to the cover initially. If you are worried about something being too strong, maybe the Mean is a better choice. It is not as early as the Robo and has a nice move at the back. I only have 6 games on mine, but testing it side by side with an identical drilled Robo told me alot right away.

Hey Ryan,
You'd also want to consider our Solution Power Plus (purple/white). It's a pretty strong resin that fits between your xcel and Sheer. The Solution is another one of the "sleepers" that offers more hook then expected. Didn't know that the Mean was on the list of free balls, didn't see it offered before. Hope this helps some...

Clint, any word when the inertia is coming out? I'm leaning towards a mean, but don't want to decide before the inertia comes out...

i'd go with the machine personally. You do not need a BRAND new ball, because it seems like the shot your on is maybe light heavy or medium, and the machine is a medium ball. The machine is very versatile and would be your best bet with something stronger than the xcel.
