Kinetic comes through again!
« on: October 17, 2007, 01:38:44 AM »
And it very nearly netted me my first 700 series, if I didn't make some mistakes in the last game.    I went 238, 265, 172 for a 675 series.  Both my high game and series for the year, and I think it's my high sanctioned series ever.    I've learned to just trust the ball, because whether it looks like it or not, it's going to make it back to the hole.  I'm now sitting at a 194 average, which is also a high water-mark for me.  I can't wait to get back out there next week!

Great bowling Splendor. I got to see the ball up close this past week in my Monday league, the anchor bowler on the opposing team was throwing one (he probably will be on Track staff before year's end), and it looked killer. Probably will be my next pick up in a few months.

A couple of things went wrong.  At the end of the second game, I was consistently coming in fairly high but still striking.  I thought that meant I should make a small move further inside at the beginning of the third game.  I did just that, and though I struck on the first ball, I left light hit splits on the next two.  I spared the next frame and then opened again before realizing I had made a mistake moving.  I went back to my home line and started striking again, and was on my way to a 205 game.  I had a turkey going into the 10th and needed the first strike for my 700.  I threw a decent shot, but went high and left an 8 pin, which I proceeded to miss, once I knew I blew the 700 I lost a bit of focus.

I felt great overall though, and I've really improved this season.  I will get that first 700 this year, I can feel it.  Last year I finished at a 179 average, and I'm sitting at 194 now, high man on my team.  We might have to think about moving me to the anchor spot.

Nice bowling! Go get that 700 next week, while you bowl anchor.

It is similar to the Power Machine, though the overall motion is a bit different, and it has a stronger backend.  I've heard people talk about big backends, but this is the first ball I've actually seen it on myself.  With the PM I used to have, I could still throw it through the breakpoint pretty easily, but I can rarely do the same with the Kinetic.  It took a few games for it to really come to life, but now it's a monster on the backend.
