Tracks balls of the year.
« on: October 11, 2005, 03:54:09 PM »
Well guys lets hear your votes for track ball of the year.  This is very hard for me to choose because I like all of mine.  There are three that I really think are winners beyond anything I have ever thrown.

The arsenal angular is a great ball.  For the tough conditions I play on this ball is a must have.  The PEAK PARTICLE cover is amazing.  A very forgiving cover.  If I make mistakes in my release the cover kind of hides it.  If you play on tough conditions this ball is a must have.

The desert heat has been a long over due ball.  Great dry lane ball.  This ball actually has awesome pin action.  This is a ball that track needs to keep producing every year for a long time.  If track discontinues this ball it would be a mistake.  I get so much use out of this ball.  I also use it for spares.

The arsenal reactive is another great piece from track.  I had to polish this ball so I could use it for med to med/heavy because the OOB cover is so strong that I could only use it on heavy oil.  A couple coats of magic shine gave me that xtra length I needed for med to med/heavy.  The arsenal reactive is the most amazing reactive bowling ball I have ever thrown.

I feel it's very hard to pick 1 ball for ball of the year.  I feel that balls need to be put into catorgories to be fair.  These 3 balls are #1 in there respective catorgories as far as i'm concerned.

Arsenal angular
Arsenal reactive
Desert heat

I will be buying a couple more of these 3 balls to keep in storage because they are that good.

I would love to hear what you guys feel are tracks balls of the year.  I know that there entire current line is great but would like to hear your top 3.

I know this is off topic but when the animal first came out the only way I could use it for an xtreme flood was to dull it down with green scotch brite(600 grit).  I couldn't imagine dulling down an arsenal reactive.  If I were to do that I wouldn't be able to find heavy enough oil to be able to use it.  That's how strong the OOB cover on this ball is.

Saw the Desert Heat yesterday.

Hot looking ball!

A slow rolling decent twistin righty was using it.

Ball was looping the lane and looked like it had more than his usual Columbia Drive which he usually covers the lane pretty good with.

This actually looked like MORE...despite lower flare!

HE was having very good results!

I think I have to go with the Xception 5.0.

I have shot very low at times with it, but that was when I was trying to get a feel for what conditions I could use it on.  I was trying to push it too much when the lanes would break down or start off medium light.  With the right conditions this ball can't miss.  Give me some head oil and kiss the pins good night.  Have thrown the ball 5 series with two 680+ a 279 and 269 (7-10 on a beautiful shot).

Heat Remake

I don't know exactly when the Heat remake was issued, but this ball is also great on medium light to light.  Have shot two 279's in only a hand full of series.

Can't wait to try the Desert Heat for my second shift Friday League.  Lanes are so fried that I can't keep the Heat on the lane.

I know I might be out of line, but my vote for the best Track ball of all is the Super Freak.  I know absolutely nothing about drillings, but I drilled this ball to go long up 10 three years ago and have been averaging 205 - 220 since.  About to drill up the extra one I was able to found NIB a couple months ago.

Track 4 life.
