Ball for longer sport patterns
« on: April 11, 2007, 05:37:10 AM »
Hey everyone~

I'm looking for a ball for the longer sport patterns with out of bounds outside 5 that I have been running into lately, and been having a big problem with. My Artillery and Equation are not enough ball and the MM seems to burn up in the oil.

I'm looking for a ball that I can play inside with and still have enough pop on the backend to carry. I can get to the hole with all of my balls, but no matter where I move I can not carry decent.

I throw about 15-18 mph, depending on the condition and like to play 15 out to 10 but I can play anywhere on the lane. I would consider myself a stroker/cranker, but more towards stroker.

I'm kinda want to stick with Track but since the buyout, the uncertainty kinda scares me. Is the anything in the Track line now that would work or do you guys know of any future releases? Is the anything in other manufactures that you would suggest?

I would say get the normal machine and take it to 1000 abralon, this will give you enough early read on the oil but still give you a nice pop on the backend. Yet the power machine would probly do the trick also.

Take any strong ball such as a GP2, Robo Rule, or Arsenal Reactive and place the pin 1 1/2" to 2" from your axis.  This will make the ball move in the front part of the lane and not over react when it sees the dry.  A very controlled, rolling layout.

I usually DON'T have problems carrying on sport patterns...the backends always seem BIG.

I have problems finding the pocket and take balls that are too weak to carry in league but often tend to move early.

It could be the patterns I see...but backend isn't usually the problem...the pattern supplies that!

I have not polished the MM but I have been considering it. Has anyone had experience or good results with polishing the MM?
