Rule update after 3 weeks use...
« on: December 14, 2004, 02:06:48 PM »
So far I've only been able to use this ball on my Tuesday night league, that seems to be where there is the most oil out of all the houses that I bowl in lately. Tonight I was determined to throw a better ball, as I've shot 590 and 569 with it so far the previous two weeks in league. After determining that my ball speed was a little too high for this shot (they triple oil the heads to 15 feet, then buff it twice out to 38 feet, seems to be a heavier concentration outside of 8, a little lighter inside of 9...), I made sure to start the ball a lot lower in my stance (a little below the waist). I played 17-12 most of the night at a slower ball speed. I shot 235 with 8 strikes (2 silly missed spares that game), 193 (with a washout in the middle of the game) and a 170 (had to move to a new pair due to a 15 minute lane breakdown) for a 598 series. This was second high in the league that night (my friend shot 625 with his Primal Instinct, going straight down 5 board). Since I am the only lefty in the league, I felt my shot held up well and the Rule definitely helped my carry- higher shots snuck the 6 pin out, light shots carried well, I think I left two 7 pins the whole night, 1 10 pin, no 8 or 9 pins...

Brought my average up to 184 in that league, slowly but surely climbing. Thanks to everyone who recommended this ball, it keeps getting better and better...

Matt,

I have to say the same about my Rule(s), keep getting better and better. After lord knows how many games they react like they did from day one. A new coverstock that holds up over time and is as strong as the Goo.....Track definately has a winner!

Good to hear Matt, as we spoken many times about this particular shot, that's pretty good.  It's all relative bud but the tougher shots do tend to make us focus more, that's a good thing though.

I can only echo my tag team partner (Ex) about the Goo Cover.  I actually just described this cover today to a good friend as the perfect reaction between the even/smooth particle look to the skid/flippy resins.  Mine truly falls into the strong arc category which offers great hitting power but with control, what more can you ask for?  Gotta try one guys to see for yourself...

Track has been and still is making great products. Glad you have decided to try Track and that you are happy with it as well. Many other great Track products are out there to compliment your Rule if you need something different.

Clint: Thanks for the support that you give to the board as well as all the other Track pro shop guys that really keep customers happy. Your insight in invaluable...

It's hard for me to switch from some of the Storm offerings for medium oil though, my Monday night league average is at 229 and it's been climbing due to the Hot Wire from Storm...

I understand your Storm stuff comment. When you have a ball that you have confidence in, its tough to switch. Right now, I have so many balls (wife is sort of mad) but I always carry my oob Phenom with me. I am just killing my scratch league with it and is a good fit elsewhere as well.

Our job is to enlighten you guys to Track products and hopefully give them a try, as they are making tons of great stuff right now. Seems like every new ball is a winner, and the Rule GP2 is already being looked at by a few people, and its about 3 weeks away. When you run a shop and people are talking about a ball not released yet, thats a GREAT thing!

Happy Holidays.
