Blast from the past
« on: August 14, 2006, 09:06:24 PM »
I recently picked up a low game used Threat and after getting some games on it I have to say I am very pleased. Track brought back the Heat sure would be nice to see them bring the Threat back. At this point I think it may be the most versatile ball I have ever rolled. I realized this yesterday when I made a total of 16 boards of lateral adjustment without loosing carry and that is a first for me. Started the night standing on 22 targeting 7 @ 40' and finished standing on 38 with the same break point. The varying degree of reactions I can get with it leaves me astounded. I also recently used it on pattern B/Shark after 1.5 games with my dulled Unleashed which I was using to open the pattern up a bit and it gave me a very nice look when the Unleashed started to check up early.

I have a 'blast from the past' every week. Code Reds last week, then Elite Pearl(i gotta throw that thing more often) and EMB pearl in practice today(and boy does the EMB like the opened up backends, can even get out of it good now seeing i did a bit work on the thumb)
Might take some of the 'serious' stuff up there sunday for our country cup rollofs but if an oldie is getting it done i'll leave the AA, AR, Phenom and Rule bagged till i get to the 'big city' next.

Hey Re-Ev... the ball and yourself must by doing well. I'm glad you had a use for it. I shot 300 in a sanctioned tourney my first time using it, then I had to much overlapping equipment and it got buried in the closet. Di you change the drill and surface?lmk...9

I left the drilling other than span change. Not sure what surface you had on it but I have it at 3000 and a light coat of Magic Shine. I've never had a sanctioned 300 before, I did have front 7 game 1 and front 8 game 3 with it Sunday though.

I miss my old Threat. GREAT ball and it would be a good one to bring back IMO! I seem to match up with Tracks older balls like the Threat, Animal, Sheer Havoc, etc  ALOT better than the stuff they had out last season.

I know what you mean I have alot of old school stuff that i am still using.  Pearlized Elite, Contender, TKO, Blue Enforcer, Trition Heat, and Sensor Xcel

The new stuff is good but I like the older stuff a heck of alot more.
