I ordered a new Rule from my proshop.Iwanted a heavy 15lb. My ball driller said he could get me a 15lb.12oz. 3oz.topweight 3inch pin out, but because of the weight, it was considered a second. Can someone give me some input on this. Thanks

It's not perfect, you can normally find them cheaper than the normal ones. To be a blem/2nd it is either, in between weights/a half weight, a extra long pin 5 inches+, bad coloring, and sometimes pitting of the coverstock. For the most part they are fine, they just don't have the ideal specs of the regulars. If you are cool with the weight, and that is all that is wrong with it and he cuts a few bucks off the $$ for you, go for it.
Just my ever so humble opinion.

I use blems all the time. Especially with asymmetric balls. Most are either long pins (or 0-1" pins) or color issues. Half weights/odd weights are as well. As long as your driller takes into account statics you should be ok....I have a 0" pin Phenom I absolutely love....sometimes blems give different drill options, making for a more versatile arsenal....

Hey wybowler,
The ball you mentioned would be considered a 15H or heavy 15. The specs on the ball sound fine, I wouldn't worry about it. I have also personally thrown many blems/seconds with no major difference. Go for it...

I gotta dynothane ball like that once in a pro am several years ago. I had it sitting next to the Christmas tree with some other balls and it looked kind of smaller to me. My wife said I was crazy, which could be true, but we measured the ball at the proshop and it was 1/4" smaller in circumference. You may want to double check the size.
