TRACK HAVOC REVIEW . . .

Here is a link to a picture of the ball layout:

This ball was much more aggressive than the manufacturer stated. The ball was recommended for light to medium oil patterns. The Track staff on BR all had said the ball was more aggressive than stated.

The ball with this drilling, started up very early, with the coverstock out-of-box. On a medium oil pattern, playing anywhere between 10-20, the ball started grabbing the lane about 5 feet past the arrows. When I moved deeper inside the ball could not turn the corner.

I cleaned the ball with Track Clean N Dull, put a light coat of Track Magic Shine on the ball, (using a spinner, light pressure for about 15 seconds, top and bottom).

The Magic Shine did the trick. The ball had decent length, retained energy and carried well.
I shot 3 games with a friend, on a left-over medium oil pattern, which was pretty chopped up.

First game, I lined up with my feet at 22, targeted 15 at the arrows, out to 9-10 board. Ball set up well. Shot 217. (Won $1.00.)

Second game, I moved my feet to 25, targeted 17 arrows, out to about 12 board. Ball hit tremendously well. Left a couple of 9 pins. Shot 235. (Won $1.00. My friend wanted pins the next game.)

Third game, I moved feet to 27-28, targeted 19 arrows, out to about 14 board. Ball hit smoother, carry was better. Shot 258. (Won $1.00. My friend didn't want to bowl any more.)

Ball reminds me of my Slash, with a bit more hit.

BTW Duke...could I borrow $3? Hehe, JK. Nice review. I have a question for ya bud. When you applied the Clean N' Dull & Magic Shine. What did you use to apply these products with? A blue shop towel? Paper Towel? Face towel sized towel? Thanks in advance!

Ramtart,

I use a Microfiber towel to apply the Magic Shine. I use a paper towel for the Clean N Dull.

I spent the $3 on Mega Million lottery tickets...if I win my buddy will be really POd, since it was his money.

looking at the layout in the pic, that's not exactly a tame layout on the ball. That's about a 4.5 x 4 with MB in strong position.

The Havoc was finishing stronger than my 2 Animals on the condition. I was under the impression that the cover was pretty weak...but I was mistaken. (pleasantly)

Great mini-review Duke. I don't leave home without my Havoc for any league or tournament situation. I kept mine in out of box surface and the drilling I placed on mine is a little tamer but I've found that on medium oil conditions this ball has plenty of bite and pop at the end to mix the pins well. I also think like most of Track's mid-priced offerings the Havoc is very adaptable to hand release changes to keep you in the game for longer than other equipment.

Duke....good mini review! The Havoc surprised many people with the strength it had on heavier mediums. I also echo your comments as many of us liked the Havoc as the Track benchmark ball until the Slash came out, now you can see why!

Sounds good Duke, quite a few of us had stated when we first tried this ball that is was understated in it's overall hook potential.  I like the fact of how you could get in deep with it and still have the ball react and hit well.  That 3rd game line sounds like you would've scored well at Nats too....glad to hear you like the piece.
