Blue Heat First Impressions w/ Pictures
« on: February 13, 2006, 12:43:55 PM »
Hey FASTTRACKERS,

Many of you have probably already drilled this bad boy up, but I was finally able to get my hands on it from the pro shop tonight. Went to 2 different houses, my home house which has a very sweet house shot and the house where I bowl my serious Thursday league at, which has alot more oil than usual.

Layout:
3 3/4 X 4 1/2, Label Layout, no weight hole necessary.

What a hook monster, I used it for about 3 games altogether tonight and it was very difficult keeping it right, I had to start out playing deep at my home house. At the house where there is more volume of oil, I could play it much straighter, but the result was the same. The pins smashed and there was nothing left. First impressions of this ball are very good...it definitely will get a try out in league Wednesday night. The one ball I could compare it to would be the Robo Rule. I feel the Robo Rule has more back end snap, but this could be due to different layouts. The Blue Heat definitely checks up earlier in the heads and has an immediate left turn on the dry back end. I still feel the Robo Rule hooks about 2 boards more though! Well, thanks for reading this first impressions review. I will be posting a full review on the Blue Heat and Heat Blast in about two weeks! Posted below are some links to the pictures of the Blue Heat so you can see it for yourself! Definitely an aggressive layout! God Bless you all and have a great week! Also, if you have any feedback, comments, or opinions, that would be nice as well...I'm also hoping to have vids of these two very soon!

Michael,

The Blue Heat is an awesome ball for me. I had to adjust the surface, OOB it was a very strong early reving ball. Basically like an old time particle(only it takes surface adjustments better). WIth the surface change I made it is much more playable on a typical shot.

I am glad you like it so far.

Hey Carl,

I didn't have many games on it last night, but I got me some PowerWash just to see how it would clean, and it was very dirty..do you feel this ball really soaks up oil a great deal? God Bless you and have a great week!

Great review bud.  I feel this is a ball that has not gotten it's fair share of praise.  This ball seems to be a very good heavy oil ball at a cheap price.

I wonder why some balls don't get the praise they deserve.  The arsenal angular and aggressive didn't get talked about much until about 8 months after it was released.  This is another one of those.

Keep us up to date on how it works for you.

Michael,

Well, it will definately suck up some oil and dirt from the lanes pretty quick. That is part of the "old time particle" statement I made. If you want a bit of seperation....just add some clean n sheen or magic shine to the surface.

PS, adding the C&S or MS would also delay some of the oil absoption.
