Rules:
1) Pins over current average for 4 weeks of bowling, highest average at the beginning of the month will be used for that month
2) Must use a Track ball for all 3 games(1st 3 games if you bowl 4 in league)....spare balls ok
3) Pls list ball used so we all can see what's working out there...
4) HONESTY a must....LOL...I'm starting to get to know a few of you guys and I know how you are...lol
5) Report your scores weekly to loose5682 and update(modify) your personal post for all to see, it can also work as a cross reference to the leader board.
6)There cannot be multiple winners so second place to a previous winner will take the monthly prize and be included into the TOC.
Please use the following format to list your personal scores.
Week 1 - Avg 190; Shoot 700 - Pins Over Avg 130
Week 2 - Avg 197; Shoot 600 - Pins Over Avg 9
Week 3 - Avg 197; Shoot 510 - Pins Over Avg -81
Week 4 - Avg 194; Shoot 750 - Pins Over Avg 168 Total = 226

So what do I get to take for average? I'm pretty low right now, since I don't have much feeling for the ball. Last time I looked, my average is down to 177, and I AM trying. Thank god I have a good excuse otherwise people would start crying that I am sand bagging. haha! But how about a coaching session if the winner is local?

I also suggest we narrow it down to say one league for the multiple league bowlers. Makes it easier to determine the pins over average.

Questions:
- If we are going for pins over average, then do we use our average at the start of the month for the whole month, or our average as of each week of the month?
- Do we take the sum of all our over avg and under avg series for the month or just the sum of the over avg series?
Example 1:
Week 1 - Avg 190; Shoot 700 - Pins Over Avg 130
Week 2 - Avg 197; Shoot 600 - Pins Over Avg 9
Week 3 - Avg 197; Shoot 510 - Pins Over Avg -81
Week 4 - Avg 194; Shoot 750 - Pins Over Avg 168
Total Pins Over Avg = 130 + 9 - 81 + 168 = 226
OR
Total Pins Over Avg = 130 + 9 + 168 = 307
Example 2:
Week 1 - Avg 190; Shoot 700 - Pins Over Avg 130
Week 2 - Avg 190; Shoot 600 - Pins Over Avg 30

We start November 1st, we take Rock's idea of using pins over and pins under avg. But you have to be honest about your average...it's not too tough to check your average each week, so i say that it should be pins over your current average, not your average at the start of the month. Winner at the end of the month gets choice of a towel or an 8oz. bottle of cleaner, something like that. Rick, I can even volunteer to help you out with the organization/stat keeping end of it. I'm looking forward to the friendly competition amongst us Tracksters.

Thanks Andrew, it would be great if you can handle this for me. Basically I like the idea also of starting 11/1 and count 4 weeks of bowling. Highest league (pls) guys, avgs will adjust by week to keep it more fair because we only have about 18-21 games in right? If you pop a series, it could really make you jump and that will make it harder for the following weeks, make sense? I like the layout of Clutch's#1 simple breakdown per week, once the posts start to pop up, we could just leave them there in that position and modify it week after week vs trying to find and chase new posts. Any other thoughts? We've got some time so pls bring'em up....oh yeah, one more rule
Anyone 5'4" or under gets 10 bonus pins a week...LMAO....HEY, I'm at a height disadvantage...sounded good to me....
BTW guys, this is my deal. It's not coming from Track, I thought it'd be fun. I may however approach them to see if they want to get involved for prizes and stuff but no guarantees, alright? I also have a few strange prizes you guys might like but it's common to me so no biggie, like half balls, I have a free standing clear wolf ball with a flat bottom for display, I thought about giving a couple of sets of grips if you want, I don't know. I think I'll make a list of stuff you can choose from and we'll go from there...give me some more ideas in this area pls.
Sorry to all those who cannot participate but I feel this is the fairest scenario. Joe, I highly respect your honesty, C4L...NO, Rags, didn't know you were a switch hitter there bud and Tracy, you're right, this is prejudiced...lol.

I have been questioned by a few on the honesty policy and my reply is just like you said, this is mainly for bragging rights and FUN. I'd hate to think people would be dishonest for a towel...but I would keep an eye out for Rock77 and Ex, (Rock cause he said it and Ex cause I know one of his league averages..
) Forgot to mention, this is open to all men AND women of all averages, nothing too low or too high...(c'mon Wix), there are also a few more people that I help out here I know throw nothing but Track, c'mon and join in on the fun. Imagine if you beat Mr Chapman, how many of you can say that you've ever beat a Hall of Famer? haha...that's my goal!Rick

Rick, glad you liked my example. But, were you thinking of counting only the over average pins or total pins (Result A or B below):
Week 1 - Avg 190; Shoot 700 - Pins Over Avg 130

My personal preference would be for Result A. That way it would provide a full test of the bowler's performance during the tourney rather than just who can shoot a couple of big series (and possibly a couple of little ones).
I also like the offer of cleaners and polishes because I use those Track products. Of course, if Track would like to get in as a sponsor and offer a ball, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

AND about this ball cleaner/polish thing....who is to say that he does not buy a bunch of 8oz bottles, empty half from every one of them into his 32oz that he uses in the shop and water down the rest of those 8oz bottles?

How bout this, we do weekly winners and you get the smaller prizes like towels polishes etc... Then we do an overall winner of the month who gets a bigger prize choice like the half ball display or even maybe Track shirts, if we can come up with them. How does that sound??

Also, at the beginning of the month, the league you use for the first week is the league you will use for the entire month. Meaning, if you are close in average in the two leagues (since we are using the highest average, correct?) the one you start with is the one you finish with, regardless of whether it is higher at the end of the month. Does that sound good guys?

- basing the +/- on your sheet average for each week

- have a BR Track Tourney of Champions for the all the monthly (or four week period) winners that coincides with the PBA TOC
- -10 pins per game for people 5' 4" tall or less
- 10 pins per game for people 6' tall or more

Everything, especially the TOC idea, that would definitely be awesome. Is there 8 months from now til the TOC? Cause that would be ideal cause then we could do an 8 person bracket. But if not, we'll work something out.

Andrew, have you got everybody? I updated my one post with names, pls use that as a reference if you want.
To ALL, everyone is responsible for reporting their own scores on a weekly basis so we can have up to date running totals. Again, I'm picturing the guys who have Monday league 11/1 will post first and then just modify it weekly for everyone to see. Pick your highest league to use for average, you don't have to switch off to another league even if it becomes higher, we'll just stick to the one league for the month, plus we should then all be able to see that your scores and current averages for the following week(s) match up.
Example: Avg 200 - Week #1 shoot 630 - the following week should have
Avg 201 - should probably go up a pin or so, understand?
Anything else? absent score = 0, weekly input, cutoff this month 10/31...just say it guys if something's missing, thanks.

In all seriousness though, looks like this is shaping up quite nicely, each monthly winner gets a prize plus an entry into the TOC, multiple monthly winners do not get multiple prizes, but do they get multiple entries into the TOC?

I looked at the PBA schedule and discovered that the PBA TOC is in April, meaning that we'll have...
November
December
January
February
March
Five month's worth of winners before the TOC, so how should we run our TOC then? Will we do a one week, most pins over average wins? Should do it for the whole month of April? Stepladder? Any suggestions?

The PBA TOC is 04/06 - 04/10. So, we could do something like this:
Round 1: 11/1 - 11/28 (4 weeks)
Round 2: 11/29 - 12/26 (4 weeks)
Round 3: 12/27 - 01/23 (4 weeks)
Round 4: 01/24 - 02/20 (4 weeks)
Round 5: 02/21 - 03/20 (4 weeks)
TOC: 03/21 - 04/10 (3 weeks)
With this schedule, we get in 5 4-week rounds and a 3-week TOC with the TOC-C being decided on the same day as the PBA TOC-C. The format for the TOC would be the same as the rounds, plus/minus current average, just one week shorter.
Also, since November and December have possible byes due to holidays, I would propose that a bye in the league you are using for the Tourney be treated just like an absence - a score of plus 0.
I would also propose that your highest average league be set at the start of the round and that league be used for the whole round.

Yeah, this will be our last week of bowling before avgs are turned in but if you don't know it yet, I guess we can submit it with your first week scores cause that's when they'll be on the league sheet. If anyone wants to calculate their own ahead of time, go ahead and turn them in to Andrew at loose5682. Thanks...

Pls submit averages to Andrew at loose5682. If you want, you can also post on "this" thread for others to see. I've asked Andrew to start another thread which will have our names and beginning avgs, individuals will be responsible for posting their own scores and updated weekly avgs under Andrew's thread. In "that" thread, we can edit/modify our own avgs and scores week to week. So first in line will be should be those who bowl Mon, then Tues and so on...pls also use the format suggested by ClutchClay which is shown at the top of this thread, thanks. Any other questions? very simple...if i don't have your average, just your name will appear...once the scores start rolling in, the average will be replaced with their score...i.e.
loose5682 - -30
I would also like to include the ball(s) used during the tournament...such as...
loose5682 - -30 (Sheer Havoc, Phenom Unleashed)
So if that works for everyone, we'll do that
