driling suggestions
« on: January 28, 2004, 06:59:57 AM »
I am looking for suggestions on how to set up my arsenal that i am wanting to go with.  have high revs average speed.

I have a mutant that i am going to drill leverage for heavy
i have a darkside drilled pin under ring with cg stacked  below that is great on med
a threat that is drilled pin over bridge and cg in center of palm that makes it really weak and works great on dry

my question is i have a crunch that i am wanting to set up for med heavy
and a crunch time i would like to drill a little stronger than my threat to try to cover med light

Hey Stormer,

The Crunch and CT to me are the other way around.  Drill the CT for med-hvy and the Crunch for med-lite based on your game.  Check out the reviews on Porkchops posting of the CrunchTime.  Chapman and I are in agreement with how strong this ball really is.

With that said, you can drill the CT(med-hvy) with a pin next to ring kick cg out to the right some.  About a 10:30 to 11:00 angle should be fine.  This will help it stand up in the midlane and continue to the pocket with a very strong arc.

Try the Crunch with the pin above fingers near or touching midline of grip and kick cg very slightly out to about an 11:00 to 11:30 look so it's not stacked like your Threat.  This will allow the ball to go longer but have more finish then the Threat and should be less then the Darkside by nature.

I honestly feel though that you should contact Anthony Chapman regarding this if he doesn't post a suggestion because I feel the two of you have a much more similar game in which I feel his opinion and expertise can give more insight.
Hope this info helps...feel free to also contact me directly if you have any questions, thanks.

<takes the handoff from tenpinspro> I agree with Rick.  The CT is stronger than the Crunch, especially downlane.  Since the Crunch is smoother than the CT, I think once polished, will work better on the lighter mediums.

I think Rick was right on with his suggestions.  The only thing I would add is for the CT, keep the pin on or below the line connecting your pin and ringer finger (which is what I think Rick meant) and lean more towards a 10:30/10:00 angle with the CG.  This will shorten the core and also provide good midlane read which is benefitial for higher rev players.
