Need your input
« on: January 03, 2006, 10:08:55 AM »
This is the arsenal that I plan to take with me to Nationals. Let me know what you think.

Animal (dull for soup)
Arsenal Reactive
5.0
Arsenal Agressive
Arsenal Angular
Desert Heat.

Are there holes in this line up?

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,

Your Arsenal is pretty nice.......but I see a hole between the Angular and the Desert Heat. That is a pretty huge gap. Last year at Nationals I had a really good look on the lane with the Arsenal Angular, but I would definately want to have something underneath it and above the Desert.

Maybe a Heat....or Solution PP EX?
Either of those balls would fill that hole.

How much difference do you see between the Angular and the Desert on your league patterns?

I agree with these guys....however, I also agree you need something above the Desert...either the Solution Ex, Heat, or maybe even a Slash!

Hell no there aren't any holes in that line up.  I love that arsenal period!!!!  The only ball I would take out of there would be the 5.0 but that's me.  I'm not saying that the 5.0 is a bad ball because I HAVE NEVER THROWN IT.  I just feel the other balls you have in that arsenal can cover everything you will see and then some.

The arsenal series, animal and desert heat.  That is an awesome line up.  Tear'm up at nationals.  That kind of reminds me of my arsenal!

Carl,
The one Desert I did throw wasn't drilled for me so I didn't throw it too well however, my Angular moved about 5-7 boards more.

Clint,

It's funny that you meantion the Slash because I have one getting pluged and drilled as we speak. I also have a farily new Threat and ofcourse my PUs!in the works as well. )

IMO the Threat will fit in between the desert and the Angular. That is, if the Threat has a medium or less drilling on it and it is polished.

Seeing how the Slash is on its way, give it a try and see what happens!

Tim,

5-7 boards is a big difference.....try the Slash and see how that works.....but I would probably put a Heat or Solution PP EX in the slot between the Desert and the Angular.

Carl,

The finger holes and thumb on the Desert were too big and I kind of had to shovel the ball on the delivery.  I really couldn't get much of anything on it. Not to mention the the span was a little short for me as well. I should have my Desert drilled by the end of this week and I'll let you know what happens after that. In the mean time please feel free to keep giving me input. I appreciate this very much guys!

Hey Tim,

I also feel that there's a gap between the Angular and Desert.  From my experience at the last 5 Nats event, the doubles/singles squad runs right after team so it can get pretty toasty out there.  They did start the new format last year of oiling before every team event so there some kind of consistency for the bowlers but they still broke down pretty quick.
