I love the desert heat. I think this ball should be produced every year like columbia does with the white dot. I have also noticed that the desert heat hits very hard. I mean this ball is one of the hardest hitting track balls out.

I was playing at league this past Sunday and couldn't hit the pocket consistently because the lanes are very tough. The last game I decided to point my desert heat from the right corner and throw it straight as an arrow to the pocket. I did this once before with my white dot but couldn't really carry that well so I abandon it. Well I just found a great approach for these tough lanes on my Sunday league. The desert hit like a missile throwing this way. I took the lane pattern out of the equation. I threw it very fast and straight from an angle. No hook what so ever. It was real easy to be accurate playing this way. This is how I throw at my spares. Well the desert worked so good this last game I decided to try it again this Sunday. I will let all of you know how this works.

If the lanes are too oily I will try this approach with my other track balls since I can throw any ball dead straight. Even throwing this angle and style you still don't want the ball to slide into the pocket. A ball can roll even if it's straight. What do you guys think? Have any of you seen anybody be successfully playing like this?

It can work, but as I know from playing straight up most of my bowling career, I will also say you do not have the room for error as the guys who are inside. If you are playing the twig and send one a few right, you could drop it in the ditch. A guy playing anywhere from 10-20 at the arrows could miss by a few outside and could strike....so I guess I am trying to say accuracy is a premium at that point.

I've never owned anything Track but after doing my homework I decided upon the Desert. I have plenty of hand and speed and have been going down and in and the results are outstanding. It's predictable, gives me all my slam hits, is forgiving on light hits and if it goes brooklyn it is lights out also. I think I will buy a few more of these because I can't depend on Track making these forever.

Clint i'm not referring to a down and in shot. I'm talking about playing for the right corner straight to the pocket. No hook. Not a gutter shot or a down and in shot. I lay the ball down at the 3 board and cross the inside of the first arrow at like the 6 board and straight to the pocket.

There are particular conditions and bowling centers where that type of shot works. USUALLY the person playing that type of line has to have little revs if they are trying to play it on a house shot because the backends are going to fly back.

The negative to that is if the oil is heavy enough and the bowler has that little amount of revs it can lead to alot of 5-7 or 5-10 leaves.
