Clean n Dull
« on: August 07, 2007, 04:51:03 AM »
Track's website is up, but I don't see any of the polishes or cleaners. Are they a thing of the past or will they rise again like the *cough* Phoenix.

I can't believe nobody will continue to sell Clean N Dull! That stuff is great. I'm glad I still have 1.25 qts left.

If you're really paranoid, you can still get the Track-branded C&D from several of the online shops.  Buddies still shows it in stock.

Lane masters ball cleaner is good but it is not a deep cleaner. It cleans the surface real well. It is also not approved for used durring a game. Clean n Dull is, as is power wash.

ive used it on every ball i have, and they all react the same as when they were new, clean and dull will NOT kill your ball, maybe you should look at the coverstock just dieing, not the product he uses to clean the ball with

I've never had any problems with c&d,used it for years.best deep cleaner on the market IMO.tell you're buddy to give his ball a bath.
on a side note, everytime I gave my equipment a resurface or cover tweak I could smell that lemon/lime scent.

I guarantee!!! that it was not Clean and Dull that made it die, and you can take that to the bank!!!

If it were, do you think that Ebonite would have taken it and and labelled it as its own?? It is now Powerhouse Clean and Dull. Never in a million years!!

Look for the source of your friend's Widow's lack of performance somewhere else.

BO, so your saying apply by hand right, i havent read the label on the clean and dull so im not sure what it says once i get some i will obviously read it to make sure im doing it right, and i know that he was using it with a spinner cuz he cleaned it at home on his spinner he told me...so i mean obviously if your not supposed to do that, then its his fault...

but i am going to be looking into getting the ebonite stuff, cuz Mr Carl Hurd recommneded it and everything he has told me to try or think about trying has been a good thing...the man is GREAT..

thanks guys...LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW TRACK STUFF!!!

Carl has listed the recommended procedure for CnD many times on this forum, and it does NOT include a spinner. BO is correct on the posssible sheen if one is used.

I use clean and dull on the spinner. I do not burn it into the cover but it still leaves somewhat of a shine. IT HAS NOT KILLED the action on any of my balls.

For those of us who do not know, what is the "proper" way to use the clean n dull.

Ala Carl - For polished balls, apply with a white scotchbrite using minimal pressure by hand. For matte balls, a green scotchbrite may be used with light pressure. Secret is to LIGHTLY rub the ball with almost NO pressure. This is not meant to alter the surface, just to open up the pores. Let set for a short period. Wipe film off with a clean towel. Wipe with a wet towel to loosen the residue. Wipe off with clean towel.

sir,

i agree, c&d is not guilty of murder or killing his ball.

when he first got it drilled,  it had a 4000 pad finish on it.  did he bowl with it in league or in open play in the middle of the day?

many times the black widow needed to be taken down to a lower pad.  try a 2000 pad or even a 1000 pad if you feel you are hitting more oil.

good luck
