Just picked one up a used one a redrilled it; never had a new one before.

Its description in the Track archive says the cover is "Multi-color Reactive", but its ball reaction on the lanes, given my release, the drilling, and lane condition I just bowled on, almost seems to say, polished solid particle. I stacked the pin and CG, above and below the ring finger, respectively, which, for me, is a very high pin and about a 5 1/4" x 4" drilling with no weight hole.

The ball didn't move a lot, it moved enough though, got almost barely adequate length on fresh oil but the hit was there, and the sense of control bordered on "Is this a Pusle?"

Some of the reaction is from the same "kinky" core in the CrunchTime, but this was even more controlled and not as early and more forgiving than my CT.

Sooooo, I wondered,
- are there any particles in this ball?
- is this ball one of those solid/pearl combos that Track is so fond of?

I had a Hex about 3-4 years ago. It was a polished pearl reactive, no particles. As I recall mine was skid snap. At the time definatly a good ball for it's price.

As I recall this was a pearl reactive with a very light particle load. My hex was kind of skid/snappy. Oil allergic with a strong move off of the dry. Did you have carrydown or is the ball oil soaked?

It was used, but not very. I don't believe it is oil soaked.
The oil pattern was freshly laid out.
FWIW this core has always been very even reacting for me, whether it was a 3" pin to PAP or a 5" pin to PAP or whether the pin was below the bridge of above the ring finger. The only exception, for being even reacting, was when it was used in the Solution PowerPlus EX, but that version of this core had a lower RG differential than this or the CrunchTime (of which I've had 3).

My recollection is that it was particle pearl. I verified this by referring back to BTM. The coverstock was Pegaxis Pro and was identified as a pearl particle ball noted for its "evenness."

SO often balls today do not list that they are particle.

Many many many are that DO NOT mention(bad marketing anymore) it and many are very low loads of particle.

I've had two of these balls and my believe of it's performance was that it was a smooth backend ball that if you were leaving 8s and 9s with another ball would stop leaving them if you switched to this ball.

I always believed it was a very light load particle pearl.

I am also inclined to believe it was an unadvertised particle pearl.

However, I believe you're on the wrong track, with respect to Pegaxis Pro. That was used on the Track Heat 2 pearl, which I had. It was, as far as I know, actually Track's version of Columbia's Holoflex. It was used to add skid, not grab to a pearlized ball. I loved the Heat 2 pearl UNTIL I had to refinish it. It seems it is IMPOSSIBLE to re-surface balls with HoloFLex because it is too close to the surface and is only used at the very top of tof the coverstock material. Leastways that's the explanation I got as to why I could not re-surface this ball and get anywhere near the same reaction with it that I got in the first 100 games I used it. I resurfaced it at least 4 different ways. Oh, the frustration. I all but gave it away and it was a LONG time before I bought another Track ball. Customers should have been warned!

I sit corrected. Sept 2001 BTM summary (Quotes indicate a direct quote)
- Pegaxis Pro
- Reactive/Particle Blend (fascinating!)
- very even reacting, a "little more flippy on medium oil" than drier lanes.
- too aggressive to be a go-longer pearl; ""doesn't jerk at the first sign of dry"
- ""not a skid/flippy as the Heat 2 pearl".

* "its evenness is its biggest strength"

Apologies to Urethane Game; one can't always trust one's memory.

I still dread when it comes time to resuface it; in the meantime I bought it inexpensively and will make best use of it, when I find the right conditions.

BTM says it's even reacting and I am definitely finding that to be true. The particles should help it handle some to who-knows-how-much carrydown.

Sorry I haven't been around, been nuts setting up running our 6th annual 2 day Memorial Day tourney in the Bay Area.

I remember the Hex as being half/half or blended but I guess you found that. Mine rolled pretty early for me though, most likely due to my ball speed. Holler if you need anything else.

Used this wonder in the third game (had put it away in the first as hooking too much; nothing worked for the next game and a half due to strange oil brand or uncleaned backends). This sucker covered almost every board on the lane.

While it is very even on medium-light; add some more oil and some dry somewhere and it HOOOOOKKKSSSSS!!!! Left the whole back row, SEVERAL TIMES, due to strange lane oil but hit the pocket 10 or 11 times for rousing 217 the last game. Think I'll keep it.
