Track Machine VS. Morich Awesome Flip
« on: June 09, 2006, 04:27:42 AM »
I just wanna compare these 2 and see which is better. I got AF already and I'm getting the machine in a few hours. I also like ya'll input on these 2 great ball. After about 100 games or so, I found out that the coverstock of my AF is very sencentive. I mean the ball won't hook that much when the backend becme slushing when I throw my nomral speed(13mph-14mph). To fix the problen i need  slow my speed down alot like 10-11 mph. Those only diffence is the AF is #13 lb. and Machine is #14 lb.

Machine: #14 lb

Core: robocore
Coverstock: fang ls particle
RG: 2.542
Differential: .052
60 degree spin time: 5.4 sec
Factory finish: compound polish
Drilled spin time: 3.79 sec
Flared: 7 inches
Reaction shape: strong arc
Mass bias: .027

Awesome Flip #13 lb

Core: Vanguard Strong Asymmetrical with upper torque cap
Coverstock: Performance Pearl Reactive
RG: 2.535
Spin: 5.4 sec
Differential: .051
Mass bias: .028
Factory finshed: Compound
Flare: large

Maybe the Robocore and Fang Ls coverstock is better...I will let ya know how the machine go after 10 games. I think I'm goin to drill the machine:

5" from pap
pin above ring finger 3/4
mb at 5 o'clock

or

4 1/2 from pap
pin slightly above ring finger at 2 o'clock
mb at 5 o'clock
This layout is the same as my AF.

The specs between the 2 balls are very close. I think the big difference is the Machine is particle while the AF is reactive. Generally particle is smoother throughout the lane than reactive. Drill it the same as your AF, you will probably get a tisker earlier read from the Machine due to the particle. Drill it weaker than your AF, you may be getting very overlapping reactions between the 2 balls...now, if you knock some polish off the Machine, you will have a bigger diff between the 2.

Thanks Clint.

I got the machine drill 5" from pap, mb at 5 o'clock, and the pin between the two finger hole under. The guy that drill it say it will give me more control goin into the pocket. I did try it out with different speed and it work and the lane was med dry. I need throw some more to get it down and maybe in some oil too. I do it on the weekday, weekend i'm too busy at work.

I'm worry about the setting he set for me and this guy is not my driller I go to cuz he gone to Texas for USBC tornerment.

What you think about the layout clint? I really like your option on this. Please......

Pin 5" from pap but under the two ringer finger NOT above.

Sorry for the delay...its tough sometimes for me to get to a computer on the weekends when I am witht he family...they come first. As for the pin below instead of above, what you are doing in essence is shortening the core, which means it will start to roll sooner as it will reach its preferred spin axis quicker....not by much, but there is a difference considering everything else is the same.

I did get a chance to bowl at least 10 games with this layout and the outcome is:

This layout SUCKS!!! The ball hook much so less and it did start to roll early. I'm goin to plug this up and redrill it as as my AF. Will give ya'll an update later on the new layout.

You've thrown 10 games, haven't adjusted the surface, and have come to the conclusion that you need a redrilling???

Proshops must refer to you as "rent."

Calm down there...have you changed the surface? What type of conditions were you on....if you have a STRONG mass bias placing and was one bone dry heads, thats an issue. Wait till you get some more games in, etc. You have to remember, if you were on drier lanes, the Fang in the cover is VERY aggressive (remember the Phenoms) and the core is the strongest mass bias core we have to date, so try it some more on different conditions before doing anything drastic.
