Cleaning an Arsenal Reactive
« on: October 28, 2005, 10:08:32 AM »
I just got an Arsenal Reactive today and was wondering what to clean it with. I practiced with it after having it drilled up and it was burning up half way down the lanes in out of box condition. My proshop guy put a light polish on it and I tried it for 1 more game and shot 299. All I can say is it hits harder than my Absolute Inferno. I have clean n' dull but since I put a slight polish on it I figure clean n' dull is not a good idea. What should I use?

thanks
John

I know many will tell me not to do this but I use orange soft scrub to clean all of my equipment.  This has worked great for me for a couple of years.  It doesn't kill the ball.  It cleans the ball up great.  I use it with hot water.  I also re-polish my AR after about 6 games.  I use magic shine.  The same thing happened too me.  Mine was burning up half way down the lane.  So I decided to polish it with magic shine and WOW; what a difference.  The polish gave me enough length to use the AR on med/heavy.  I could use the OOB cover on heavy oil.  For med oil this ball for me would have to be put into the bag because of how strong it is.

John,

chitown is correct....I disagree with him

If you have Clean n Dull do not be afraid to use it, it will not remove shine off of a ball UNLESS that shine is oil built into the surface. On polished equipment I like to use Clean n Dull and a white scotchbrite. I do it by hand, no spinner.

Apply about a quarter sized drop of Clean n Dull onto the WHITE scotchbrite and apply it evenly over half of the ball in small circular motions.....APPLY AS LITTLE PRESSURE AS POSSIBLE!!!!.......Let it sit about 20 seconds and wipe it off with a dry towel. Do the same on the other half of the ball and you are done.

The new cleaner Clean n Tacky works just as good as clean n dull.

GOODLUCK!!!!

Hey John,(nice game..bad break)

I completely agree with Mr. Excaliber, I use Clean and Dull in my shop constantly to clean off oil and dirt from a ball and then apply polish as needed.  It helps retain that good tacky feel.....

Clean and dull is by far the best stuff I have used on a ball!!! It is the onlt stuff that actually cleans a ball IMO!!!

BTW, I had an Absolute Inferno and every Track I have ever tried hits better!!!! That was my beef with the AI!
