Legion @ nats
« on: April 24, 2016, 06:14:46 PM »
the Legion solid was a great piece for me in the Team event
went to the booth, they came watched our practice session, tweaked my surfaces
used the Legion all 3 games at 1000 dull
shot 633 and I bet I was in top 10 on that squad, lots of low scores
S/D was a different story, I wish I had something stronger with me for that.
Go see Bob or Dan in the booth, great guys

I see Dave's comment (and thanks)... Looking for any new reports of how the Legion solid performed @ Nats, preferably from lower rev bowlers. I haven't thrown Track in forever, but....

I talked to a group of friends that went last week. They all said team wasn't bad, but the back ends for doubles were just crazy.

The tournament leaderboard seems to agree with them on the doubles with 1341 being tied for 1st and 2nd place for the Regular division and 1155 being 1st in Classified.

LOL, that was my Nationals experience in the nutshell.  :o

But it had nothing to do with my equipment. There is no magic piece that will substitute for good execution.

Guys, please don't hijack... Back to the topic... Any specific reports on the Legion Solid? I want to bring an asym, probably pin down, and looking heavily at it to go in the bag. I've heard it's a fairly smooth asym... Feedback appreciated.

I have a friend who is going in 2 weeks buy the Warrior Elite which is a tad stronger than the Legion, and he absolutely loves it
look into that one as well, also a proven piece

Just curious before the thread "gets back on topic".......

What difference does it make if anyone has seen success with Legion Solid at Nationals?? I can guarantee you that just about every ball produced in the last 10 years has had success in Reno by someone. Does knowing this really help you out??

Please feel free to get back on topic. I'm sure the knowledge that someone has seen someone throw decent with a Legion Solid will be a huge help.

Steven, put on your big boy pants. Simply stated, I haven't thrown Track in years, heard the Legion was a relatively smooth rolling asym, and being lower rev, I know that it's lower differential may impact the "only" asym slot I'll have in the bag given asyms and I over the last decades... I thought it was a fair enough question... Sorry you don't agree.

see attached comparison, just gives you an idea of what they are like
Scandal
Legion solid
Warrior Elite

while you get to see actual numbers, these don't tell the whole story
I can confirm that the Scandal is much more ball than the numbers in the comparison chart show

Thanks Dave. I just bought the Scandal and agree. That's a lot of ball for a symmetric. I think it will be in my bag for a long time. If I can add an asym to give me at least a few boards reaction and maybe a different look on Nats with my lower rev rate, I'll be happy. The rest is up to me.
