complete line up?
« on: July 28, 2005, 03:01:37 PM »
the high performace symetrical line is about perfect for a 4 ball set up.

to me a sweet 4 ball set has:

1 particle designed to flip
1 reasin designed to flip

1 resin ball that arcs
1 particle ball that acrs.

I am dissapointed that one of the solutions is not designed for flip.

having 4 balls that arc and cover all lane conditions and 2 flip balls to cover med-light to med heavy would make for a nice 6 ball arsenal on the cheap side.

IMO. I prefer arc but like to have some flip in case the arcing stuff won't turn the corner.

overall a pretty good job so far from TRACK.

The Solution Power Plus EX, according to Bob Learn Jr brings back great memories in overall reaction to the HEX, so I wouldn't be too worried about lack of flip out of that ball.

^^^^^^^
With that said, I have not thrown it yet, so I don't know what it is going to do for sure.....but I would expect flip. Not to mention that the HEAT will give you pretty good flip.....if you want a symmetrical ball.

the other solution( no ex) has a arc reaction(going by there specs.) and the ex has a flip design. with arc resin balls(heat, slash) I would like to see a flip reaction to complement the other balls.

but as they turn balls over in there lineup you never know. but between both symertical lines you can get that strong resin flip with the new arsenal reactive.

if the desert heat is that weak to handle very light short and dryer patterns, they have every which way covered between all there symetricals.

personally I'm going to attack tournaments with:

spare:
1.BLUE DOT

pin under and between fingers. about a 5-7/8 pin to pap; no weight holes. about 3/4 side so if I need a hole(and they are allowed)
2.Desert heat
3.Heat
4.Arsenal Agressive

pin up balls for flip. not sure of what pin distance yet. maybe I will try one with the pin above the bridge.
5. Arsenal angular
6. Arsenal reactive
7. solution EX

that will be my main setup.

then some special drilled balls to see what I like and where.
GP2 drilled pin 1" above midline. 4 x 4.5(MB)
Exception drilled 135 deg
maybe a 315 drilling to see what that is all about.

power heavy oil: animal/ arsenal reactive

I know that many people will say i'm crazy for only using 2 layouts.

I don't think you are crazy. I pretty much only use one layout which is Pin above fingers and CG/MB kicked out toward VAL. My philosophy is drill it to save core energy for the backend then adjust the cover to suit the condition.

Can't really say I agree with your choice for a "power" heavy oil ball though.
Pretty sure the Arsenal Reactive is not going to be a heavy oil ball and the Animal is a bit rolly from what I have seen. I think a GP2 is a much better choice or a P.U. if you can still find one.

Just my .02 worth.

I didn't mean to imply that the Animal wasn't a good heavy oil ball just that it is not what I would conider to be a "Power" ball on heavy oil due to it being more of a rolly type of ball.
When you say "Power" I assumed you meant big backend and I just haven't seen that from the Animal on heavy oil and work well. Maybe I just misunderstood what you meant by "Power".
