Animal on a Reverse Block Type Pattern.
Hey guys, thought I'd let you know how bowling went last night in league. Well they changed the shot on us again. Last week we saw medium oil (probably 35-38 feet) with clean backends, so it was pretty much a wet/dry shot. Well this week, they decided to put out an out of bounds on both the left and right side just inside of the 2nd arrow to the gutter.
If you got your ball out there...bye bye! Anyways, took the Slash out in practice as my benchmark. The ball wouldn't check up in the out of bounds area if you bounced it (obviously! hehe). If you got the ball in without speed, you would go nose or brooklyn.
I was stubborn in the first game and shot 165 with the Slash. Stubborn because I knew I should've been playing deep inside like one of my opponents (it was working for him). I tried several different shots. I played the Oil line and kept my hand behind the ball (2-8-10, split, & strike). I played the drier middle portion of the lane with more speed but couldn't keep my ball of the nose (left a durbin & split).
So for the last shot in the 1st game I experimented and took out my Animal.

My goal was to catch the Oil on the left side to get the ball through the heads and touchy mid lane and get the ball to travel on a tight line to the pocket. Well, let's just say that it worked! went 217 & 226 in the last 2 games of the set.
What I liked about the layout on this Animal is that it didn't overreact to the dry since it is drilled to start up earlier (MB just inside VAL). It's times like this that I appreciate a ball that will naturally "push" and not turn like a hockey stick like balls laid out with the MB in the Strong Position. Catching the oil on the left also helped out a bunch. It was nice to experiment with the inside line, because we haven't seen this at home too much lately. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me. Thanks for reading!
Best Regards,
Ramtart
