Anyone have an idea what the finish was when TKO Contender came out of box? I picked one up this weekend just wanted to clean up a little

Both Ball databases, BowlingBallVault and 123Bowl only have "Sanded" as the finish. Knowing what Track did back then, I'd suspect it was somewhere in the 800 - 1200 grit (US/CAMI) range. That's P1600 - P2500 grit FEPA (the grit grading system used by Abralon and Siaair pads.)

If I were you I'd start with a P1500 grit finish and then work my way up or down from there.

FYI a 1500 grit sanded particle ball is still going to require a good deal of oil or a speed dominant release.

Thanks. Wood lanes just hit it with an old 500 pad shot a 6 tonight with a bad first game kept wrapping ten pins. I have the speed for it. Yeah everything was saying just "sanded".
