The Rising - Mini Review!
« on: June 24, 2008, 12:05:42 PM »
I have this ball, and will be getting it drilled up tomorrow night! I posted a different topic about this ball and how to drill it before, since it's a x-blem, 5-6" pin, 2oz top weight ball.

While talking to Carl, (who was very nice talking to, BTW!) we came up with a layout. This layout will get the ball to read the midlane good, yet give it a good snap off the dry. Not a huge skid/flip snap, not a big huge arc, just a hard move off the dry. The layout we decided on will be this:

Pin 4 1/2 inches from my PAP, 1 inch from VAL, and placing the MB 2 1/2- 3 inches from my VAL.

This will sure be interesting. Carl also noted i'd probably be one of the first people to ever place this layout on The Rising. I'll post back tomorrow night with a mini-review of this ball! I seriously can't wait. I've been dying to try out some new Track equipment, and this is my chance!

I'll update this post I made tomorrow night with a review + picture!

the wierd thing is, my ball doesn't flare, but its supposed to be drilled 4X3

Im so glad people are brainwashed to thinking that if they buy a new ball they will carry everything. And its even funnier when im carrying with my 15 year old ball and they're going flat ten.

Yes it will flare, I know beacause this one ball that for me to play deep with I have to lay off. If I dont the ball rolls out after the arrows, or it will overflare. If I get a chance I will get some photos up of it with its over flare. I normaly flare a DH about 5 inches. However up until the Rising the most flare I got was on a GP2 of about 10 inches. Just barely missing the overflare. Now with the Rising, I have had shots in league where I hit it and it didnt move. It would come back and you would see my flar move away from my fingers and thumb and then go over the back flars and almost hit my finger holes. I was shocked, this ball flares like no other. The only one that dont flare much for me was my trick layout. It has was is now one of the new layouts for the UpR. The Pin is one inch from the val 5 inches from PAP and the MB was on the Val. This gave me such a smooth and length Ball reaction but the problem is that it was to inconsistant. However I still liked it, but I ended up giving that one away to. I am back down to 3 but more in the futre. LOL.
