Post by: dta15m on June 27, 2007, 04:14:32 AM
i just purchased a spinner and i want to freshen up my arsenal, i made a list of oob finishes for the balls i have but im missing a few let me know if these are correct and if somebody could help me fill in the blanks that would be great. thanks

Equation - 3000 + magic shine
Arsenal Artillary - 1000 + clean n sheen
Machine - 1000 + clean n sheen
Power Machine - 3000 + magic shine
Strike Machine -
Mean Machine - 1500 + clean n smooth
Robo Rule - 800 clean n sheen
Rule Gp2 -
Desert Heat -

also correct me in im wrong
compound = clean n sheen
smooth = clean n smooth
polished = magic shine

thanks again

* Balls that I have and my method which is very close to OOB IMHO
* Equation - 3000 + magic shine (:20 x 2 sides, medium pressure)
Arsenal Artillery - 1000 + clean n sheen
* Machine - 1000 (:30 x 4 sides with gray scotchbrite, medium pressure and :20 x 2 sides clean n sheen, medium pressure)
* Power Machine - 3000 grit TriZact pad (:30 x 4 sides, medium pressure)
Strike Machine - (clean n smooth + Magic Shine?)
* Mean Machine - clean n smooth (:30 x 4 sides, medium pressure)
* Robo Rule - Gray scotchbrite (:30 x 4 sides, firm pressure)
Rule Gp2 - 1200
Desert Heat - High Polish (4000 + Magic Shine?)

When I am using a polish or compound I apply it to half of the ball and rub for a few seconds to even it out and then start the spinner for the above times.

Buddies has the 1/2HP Vertex (http://"http://www.buddiesproshop.com/product/1271/Vertex_Mold_-_Spinner_12_HP.htm") for $220 shipped, probably the best price you'll find for it.  That's the one I got earlier this week and so far I love it.

Didn't I send you the drilling sheet with the Strike Machine that should show the surface out of box. I wont bet my life, but I think its in the 3000 area.

shipper, i dont remember getting a drill sheet with the strike machine because i always save em and i dont have one for it, i still have the box ill double check and see. it is a very strong ball by far the strongest polished ball i have. somebody earlier said they thought the sm was 1500 so yesterday i took it to 1000 then used clean n smooth to get it around 1500 then added 1 coat of magic shine and it looks pretty close to the way i recieved it, ill hit the lanes tonight and see how that worked
