Freak Out vs Slash?
« on: February 12, 2005, 09:48:07 AM »
I have a Slash. A friend gave me a few balls. One of them was a Freak Out.
How does the Freak Out compare to the Slash. Or teh Phenom Unleashed?
Just so I have clue, before I plug it.

Thanks,

Never threw a Freak Out, but had the previous incarnation of the Slash, the Triton Elite (Slash has stronger coverstock than the old Elite).

FYI The FreakOut is a polished particle pearl (some length, strong overall hook), while the Slash is a solid, rough/matte finished resin (smoother, earlier, decent backend, probably handles slightly more oil). Major difference in coverstocks and surface; hook shape will look fairly different with similar drillings; oil handling abilities might not show a large difference.

charlest,

I have the Slash, which I bought as a med-heavy to heavy oil ball. I found it's more of a medium oil ball. I'll plug the Freak Out and try it out.

Thanks.

Duke,

The Freakout is going to handle more oil than the Slash. I really liked the FreakOut. The Slash is more of a smooth reaction (for me) in comparison than the FreakOut.

I found that the FreakOut is best on house shots. It is one of those stand left throw right (for a righty ) and watch it come back to the pocket.

Hey Duke,

As Ex stated, the Freakout is stronger than the Slash but should be under the Unleashed.  It has good length with a strong backend as well.  Hope this helps some...
