Title: Crash- A Pearl?
Post by: DP3 on January 05, 2005, 04:25:39 PM
Is it?  There's just something about this ball that intrigues me and I just can't quite put my finger on it.  I'm looking to experiment with a drill that I had in a big blue pearl, just on a ball with a similar strength cover and a stronger core so I can get more continuation.

pretty sure the big blue pearl is a particle pearl, crash is a reactive pearl.

I don't want it to be similar...I'm looking for a different kind of look with the same drill, perferrably more length with continuation.  Just an experiment ball of sorts.

Track told me in a private email that the Crash AND the CrunchTime were both half solid and half pearl. (NOTE: They have different coverstocks!) I doubt the Crash has as strong a reaction as the Big Blue Pearl, a particle pearl.
The Crash is pretty flippy out of the box, more for medium-light conditions; the CrunchTime is more even, but makes a strong move out of the dry.

I'd try the Depth Charge or the Vendetta Particle Pearl. Be aware that the Dc has a super low RG; you might want to put the pin above the bridge/ring finger; The VPP has a more avg RG.

The Golden Nugget, also a particle pearl, based on the PK 17 coverstock, now discontinued and selling for much cheaper, is VERY continuous and a humongous pin mover (Thank you, Brunswick), although the core is not especially strong (Read: keep the pin within 4.5" of the PAP).

Hope you had a nice Christmas!!  I missed you and Ron up at the bowling center.

charlest is right, both the Crunchtime and Crash are combination balls.  His description of the reactions is also right.  The Crash is longer and more jerky than the Cruncthime.

The Crunchtime is the better choice for what you are looking for.  It's a pretty strong ball.  Now, why don't you just get the Xception after throwing mine!
