Ball help
« on: February 14, 2005, 01:23:21 PM »
I throw about 19-20 MPH with low-med revs (don't know exactly) and usually bowl on medium oil.

The balls I'm looking at are the Xception, Rule, and Phenom.  Which do you recommend?

I would appreciate any help, thanks!

Hey lefty47,

I also like George's choice in the GP2 based on your higher ball speed.  Even though you only mention it's a medium condition, your revs to speed typically wouldn't offer you much overall hook or room on the lane.  The GP2 can change this for you.  By having more strength on your ball choice, it will allow you to throw more of your natural game while having the hooking capability of a slower player.  Hope this helps....

Thanks guys.

So you don't think the any of those would be good for me?  The reason I was looking at those was because I found them for a good price.

Also if I go with the GP2 what top weight and pin do you suggest?

Due to your higher speed and lower rev rate, I'd suggest a shorter pin of about 2 and top around 3.  Keeping the pin under in your case is okay because of your higher ball speed but place the mb in more of a strong position to help it turn over better on the backend.  If you can get your pap info, I can be a little more specific in distances for you.  Thanks....
