Finally got a chance to throw a few games with the new Crash...
Layout: 4 5/8 x 4 5/8, 3/8 pos side, 1/8 finger, pin 1 inch above ring and cg directly lined up 2 inches below ring(stacked).
Oil: Bowled after first shift was done, 28ft(double oil) buffed to 40, backs start clean but carry down some afterwards. Shot is blended from 5 board inward to 20, outside 5 is now lite OB, ABC has made sure of that but basically the shot has moved into track area.
Lined up at 29, hit 13-14 at the arrows to about 9-10 at the breakpoint right around 45ft down. The ball cleared the heads easily with a good midlane read and finished with a very smooth backend reaction, not jumpy at all. It carried very well considering that it didn't have a lot of entry angle. If I stayed on the oil line too long, it did leave some 10's but when I missed right, it didn't jump off the dry. It stayed out there and recovered with a stronger arcing motion then before and carried very well.
I chose to try this pattern because I had my Voodoo drilled 4.5x3 and because of my slower ball speed, I did seem to encounter some over/under(O/U) at times. This layout on the Crash gave me no indication of that at all. I personally am very pleased with this reaction and highly recommend it(or something similar) to slower ball speed players or to those who I define as true mid to stronger tweeners. This layout definitely helps keep the ball under control with very good hitting power.
