New Up-rising
« on: November 19, 2008, 01:43:03 PM »
Hi all, I'm new to the Track forums, and new to Track equipment.

Had an Up-Rising drilled up today, I was pretty impressed. I went with Drilling #1 not realizing the ball was as strong as it is. Hindsight says I should have went with drilling #2. The ball was very aggressive, and very consistent off the breakpoint. I had to play deeper than I do with any of my current equipment, including a Brunswick Fury, and a Hammer Black Widow Venom. I will post a video soon! I didn't shoot anything spectacular with it tonight, but it was consistent. It only missed when I missed. 626, just about average.

For me the UpRising was more arcy and consistent at either 2000 or 4000 abralon.  The polish made it too angular for my tastes.

Does it really matter?

The Polish on the UpR, tends to make it a little long on some slightly heavier fresh shots also. This then causes some over/under reaction for some people. The smooth 4000 finish is awsome on this ball.

Well, I am continually impressed by this new ball. Tonight, on the shark, I was able to start out playing 5th arrow, out to about 10-11. This ball had some serious back-end for such a heavy pattern. Then, I threw three games on a heavy house pattern at this house, and shot 733. This thing is definitely one of my new favorites.

Scoot hit the nail dead on. 4000 with no polish. The polish on a fresh shot with clean backends makes the Uprising really jumpy. Knocked the polish off, and the over/under turns into a smooth hard rolling arc with great carry and very few ringing tens.

It took me a month to figure this out as I always hesitate to change the oob finish on a ball because it is so hard to duplicate in most instances.
